Default 05 shifter ball and SHORT SHIFTER!

WELL, after much complaints, i am making new shift knobs as well a short shifter. just need some help. i cant get the center console off all the way, and i dont want to break anything. im sure all the 05 owners want to read this so mods dont move this please! pics soon to follow, if you have any ideas/ help please post. a pic of the completed shift knob is below. (this is the sand blasted billet 6061 t-6 aluminum, i can polish them or powdercoat them as you please!

thanks for the insight. i tried those, but that is for the auto, the manual are set up all differently.

How much of the console are you trying to remove? I have had the entire back console section removed without issues. The boot section comes off easy as well.

I would be very interested in a short throw shifter, I was waiting on B&M but they may be a while.

Anyone know if the thread on the Autos is standard thread? I want to replace mine with a CF one, to match the CF Dash Im putting in...

thanks, yes my idea/scheem was included, maybe i shouldnt have phrased it as i did, all i really wanted was how to take off the boot assem. to get to the shifter.
