Tacoma Door Panel Removal Questions

Any Tacoma owners recently removed their front and rear door panels because of either aftermarket speaker replacement and/or dent repair removal (i.e., DentPro)?

Tacotunes.com has written detailed procedures and instructions on their website. Just curious for those who have done this already with success. Were there any challenges? What was your estimate labor time for removal? Tools or replacement Toyota OEM groments, clips, washers, or screws required when installing and replacing the door panels?

Is there any removal and/or installation tips you would recommend to those who are going to take on this weekend project for his/her first time.

Just don't pull on the top part of the door panel - it is kind of like an upside down J.

Other than that it was pretty easy.

Oh yea, if you are going to do dynamat, do not cover the humps at the top part of the door. This will put to much tension on the door panel. I had to peel some of that stuff off my door panel - that stuff sticks really well.

You will be surprised how easy it is. This is my first REAL car audio upgrade. Never done this kind of stuff before. Simple stuff but not running amp wires, speaker wires, crossovers etc . . .

Even the head unit was easy if you get the harness for an 05 taco - it is pretty much matching colors. I save a lot of money doing it myself and really like knowing how the whole thing works . ..

Just take it slow.

The hard part on the front door was the power door lock, power window switch wire plug. I ended up just leaving my door panel hanging by this wire while I changed out the speakers. I could not figure out how to disconnect the connector plug, does anyone know the trick to this plug??? The tacotunes tutorial pics dont show how to unplug this. TIA!
