Keyless entry keyfob programming

okay. so i had the dealer i purchased from send me an extra keyfob (only had one with delivery). had a local dealer program it today while i was getting the parking brake recall done.

here's the kicker...they didn't even take the remote out of the packaging to program it. they left it sealed in the little plastic baggy. i wasn't watching them do it, but i saw my truck's hazard lights flash several times.

good news is they did it for free. i think some dealers really try to crank you on stuff like this. my question is...how'd they do that? or is it hidden in the secretive subscription area on this forum?
