"FYI for 05 owners. Took my 05 to the dealership because of squeeking and grinding noise from rear suspension. Toyota is aware. Apparently a rubber guard type thing in the rear leaf pack that is supposed to stop this is failing. They called Toyota while I was there, Toyota said the should have the "fix" by the end of the month and will issue a TSB. They gave me a case number and all that and are calling when it arrives."
Thank god! After awhile no amount of grease was getting rid of my sqeek. Hopefully this is the answer I've been looking for.
Took my truck in for an alignment and to have them to check out the leafspring noise (clanging) .. They fixed the alignment and said the noise from the rear springs waz normal (BS) Ill wait a few weeks and take it to a better Dealer, mine sucks azz.

My dealer "fixed" mine about a month ago by greasing the leaf spring bushing. I knew it wouldn't be long before it started again, and sure enough it has. I wonder if they will still fix it now that I have a rear add-a-leaf... Hopefully the TSB will come along. Good Post!
Great news, mine is driving me nuts-makes the truck sound like a$$. I had a 69 chevy 4wd that didnt make a sound and it was a pile...
Anyone know what other TSB/recall stuff is going on for the 05???

There was another one out recently for updated cab mounts that was supposed to get rid of popping noise when driving over bumpy roads. The TSB is VIN specific, meaning Toyota made this change during the production run.
Just do a search for TSB and you should get plenty of info.
There was just a safety recall put out also about seat belts ... but it’s only for Tacomas with bench seats and standard cab.
Thank goodness! Mine drives me crazy!! It's going in next Friday I hope the dealer does something other than grease it. Hoping to get it fixed before the lift goes on.

Had mine in for the squeak, they cleaned the springs and lubed it with a "Special Toyota Lube" (i.e. = grease).
So far, (2000 miles) it has not started again.

Dont forget to have your e-brake serviced if you take it in for this. There was something awhile back about auto tranny equipped trucks having the 2 nuts on the back of the e-brake mounting plate coming loose and rolling around on the floor, make sure you get yours checked gentlemen.

I thought that was only for the manual transmission versions?
I'm suprised to hear dealers are trying to grease them. My dealer has replaced the rear springs on at least 4 trucks no questions asked. Don't let them grease them, have them replaced.
