regarding the strut nut - the first one or two threads on the nut get crushed during install, where the nut gets torqued from the threaded part of the strut to the non-threaded part. I did this myself without an impact wrench. Backing the nut off becomes difficult partly because of the damage to the nut's threads.
I'm running 295/70/17 on my truck and I have no rubbing on my mud flaps well at least not now. I drilled a hole in the upper most inside corner and ran a black zip tie through it and ran the other end through an existing hole in the frame. Ehat that does is it pulld the inside of the mud flap flush against the truck and out of the way of my tire. You can't even notice it. Oh yeah before I did that I use my propane torch and heated up the parts of the flap that the tire rubbed and compressed it flush against the truck with a flat piece of metal then I did the above zip tie thing. Sounds stupid but it worked for me.

1) Will these procedures be the same for the 2WD kit?
2) Those spacers look like they go on the outside of the shock. I heard those kind mess up your truck...something about wearing out your ball joints? I heard you need to get the ones that go inside the shock. Thoughts?
what torque ft/lb did you use for the front shock bolts, rear shock bolts, U-bolt on the leaf springs, and the center pin for the leaf springs, im installing a lift next week and cant find the information anywhere?

I think you are referring to preload and top load spacers. Preload spacers is what makes your ride so rough as it limits the travel your coils have. Top load is better but you can only go so big with topload spacers or you will jack some stuff up. 1/2" most on a topload which will give you 1" of lift.

hey all, I'm new to this site and had some questions. I bought my toytec coil kit and have received it already. now I just have to find time to install it.
I wanted to use these instructions on here to supplement the given instructions, but for some reason, the pictures aren't showing up for me. The directions are very detailed but I think it would be a lot more helpful if the pictures worked.
Is it my computer, or is it the link to the pics? any help would be great!

It appears to be the links to the pics, I'm only seeing red X's in white boxes. Bear in mind that the how-to was originally written about a year and a half ago.

I can't restore them, those pics were linked to SMTRDSPORT's website, so he probably axed them.

You know what fellas/gals... I've looked for those pictures and I've yet to find them. I had a website up and running for the past 8-9 years though I've let it lapse and I'm thinking those individual pictures were hosted there, so I apologize for not having those backed up somewhere (that I've found). If I can answer any other questions, feel free to ask them and I'll answer them the best I can. The step by step instructions should I hope walk you through the install relatively well as those were the intentions.
* Someone mentioned torque specs on each bolt... that I don't recall. Like mentioned earlier, I wrote this write up over a year ago so I've forgotten. If I hadn't stated torque specs, then I just torqued each bolt down as much as I could. Keep in mind the U-Bolt bolts you'll want to re-check and torque down after the first 100 miles or so... also wouldn't hurt to re-check a month later down the road as well... I recall re-tightening those nuts a few times.

I did upload the pictures again however I didn't edit them all back into the correct location on the original post, so you'll have to look below the picture and choose the picture with the correct step your on.. ie... "step 9"
clicking the image will enlarge it.. Hope that helps
