Default Which dash kit do you like and why?

Do you like the American International or the Scosche kit? Please give some reasons why. Thanks.

Default Ai

I have the AI kit (pics in gallery) and like it alot. It was alot less $$$ too.
The black looks good with the interior as well. My .02

I have both. I had to paint the AI kit, liked the look and the angle. Bought the Scosche kit on sale cause I thought the color was closer. I'm taking that out as soon as possible (today). The Scosche kit sets my radio (AVIC-D1) at a weird angle and with the trim ring in place and the radio positioned properly interfiers with the operation of the tilt screen. I can't use my cd player with out forcing the face down risking damaging my radio.

I have the scosche kit with the AVN5435, and I can't imagine a better combo. Fits amazing.

not sure what they're selling at the local shop, here, but it looks horrible. That was my first concern when I saw the tacoma dash for 05... I would almost go out of my way to keep the stock head unit -- even if I upgraded the speakers and amp.

I have had both, the real benifit to the scosche is the way it mounts to the truck, the part the holds the hazard light assembly is much better than the AI and the clips the snap into place are better on the scosche. But I like the trim work around the the hazard light on the AI more and the angle the AI puts a single din radio at, also prefer the pocket on top of the radio but thats just me.

Both have their perks, you can get a good finish on the AI with some primer and sanding and Dupi-Color FB-108 bumper paint. So for only $25 shipped from ebay its a good deal but the Scosche seems to be a little better built and has the factory slots in the top of the face.

Just my .02
