Talking Check this out and tell me what you think-

Just had this bed bar fabricated and installed it today. You'll notice I moved the front bed rail to the rear of my tool box so I can use it for hauling bikes. The bed bar was then bolted between the tool box and front of the bed using the factory nut plates and tapping the 1/4" thick channel that the bed bar is welded to. The third picture is of the Bent-Up square sliders that A.J. welded on for me yesterday. A.J.'s a great guy, highly recommended. There's more pictures of the work in my gallery. I'm pretty happy but let me know what you think-

Talking Nice lights

I like the lights but really like the side bars..very slick/unique.

I was looking at your pics and noticed you were hitched to a nice size camper. How'd the tow go with your Tac? Ny the way that looked like a really great locale for chillin

Looks good, those sliders are looking a little new though, you better hurry up and introduce them to some rocks off-road.

The Tacoma tows great, after doing lots of research on the web (at this site and others) I made sure I wasn't asking the Tacoma to do more than it could handle with this model travel trailer. If you went with one of the newer ultra-light models you could tow a little longer trailer, but I'm right at the limits of what I can safely tow according to the owners manual and all the expert advice I received.

I hear that...last time I went out I tried to make back into Coyote Lake here in the Central Sierra's and I turned around and came home because I didn't want to risk the body damage. If it hasn't snowed yet by Thanksgiving I'll have to attempt the same trail and see how far I get.

Ohh dude.. That's where I was going to go this summer, but I never made it there. My slider's didn't come in in time . But I will definitely be there next year. I've never been there before, how is it? Can we make it with 3" of lift? and if not is Red Lake a good substitute? I hear the trial is pretty tricky. Take some pics as you go through the trail if you do go before turkey day .

I don't know if I can make it all the way to Coyote or not but I'm sure going to try. I couldn't get to any of the lakes in this area before the lift and sliders. I'll definitely take some pictures and post them up here when I go. Looks like you have some nice tires to help out as well, mine will have to wait until I wear out the stockers.

Nice setup man! How much did you pay for the bed bar if you don't mind me asking? I'm looking to do one similar and mount a hi-lift on it.

I paid a guy $200 to fab it up for me, plus another $40 for someone to powder coat it. If you had a buddy with tube bender & welder I'm sure you could make it for much cheaper. I didn't want to lose anymore rear visability than I had to so I stayed low with the bar. My Hi-Lift is in my toolbox.

Thanks guys, the sliders are all A.J.'s work at http://www.bentup.com/main.html. Hopefully it's o.k. to post his link up.

Default Good Choice!

I had AJ make a set of sliders for mine last May. Love 'em. Gives you mucho peace of mind off road I added some non-skid tape from Lowe's (pics in my gallery) to the top of the outer bar, makes it safe to use as a step for washing etc. Just dont wrap the outer edge of the bar with non skid, it eats legs when you get in and out I just put an 1 1/2 inch strip in the middle.

What kind of tool box is that? The whole setup looks killer.

...Doc

What are you going to do with your stock fender flares.
Thanx.
