Default How To: Get rid of the open door buzzer.

No you do not need to take apart your dash or instrument panel.

You just need to take off your driver's side rear door panel. And unhook the clip

I'm not sure how the D-Cab is setup, but in an access cab just take off the panel as explained Here

I just popped my gage pod out with the door open, and ripped the dinger off with a gerber. Took like five minutes total.

on the dub cab, you can unbolt the black piece on the post that gets pushed in when the door closes and disconnect the plug. Only bad thing is you will lose the inside light when you open the door.

I'd also rec. installing an inline switch. It seems like a good idea because if you leave the wire disconnected the doors can automatically lock if you accidently leave the keys inside.

Also the outside lights don't turn off automatically when you open the door.

By having an online switch you can just select when you want it to go away.

The gage pod is only held in by TWO screws, really it only takes five minutes to completely remove. I also removed the VSC buzzer and I put a dab of silicone on the one on the 4WD computer to silence that. I hate warning buzzers, too many years of listening to back up buzzers on forklifts I guess-

Cam, looking at your pic of the door panel, is it the white clip that is disconnected? Thanks!
