Does anyone have any info on the 07 Tacoma? I took my truck in for service today, and the service advisor told me the Tacoma is going to be redesigned for 07. She said definitively it's going to be bigger, have a totally redesigned front end, and it will be capable of holding a full size plow. She said that since the Tundra is getting supersized for 07, the Tacoma is going up a few notches in size too.

Seems like misinformation to me. Why would they redesign then two model years later do another redesign. I haven't heard anyone say that they're dissatisfied with their current 05/06 Tacoma and it's gotten rave reviews.

Does she have the 4.0 supercharger in stock too? Sounds like someone just talking to me...maybe she was thinking tundra?

they do a complete redisgn usually like every 10years...they do small changes to the grills usually every 3 years..so i would say the 08 trucks will probably have a small facelift

Tell her this ain't the 50's and 60's anymore. They used to change the look of cars and trucks every year back then. Now that's way too expensive so they keep refining the same platform with minor facelifts. Did you have on a nicotine patch as she was blowing smoke up the hoo-hoo?

I agree. I told her I thought two years seemed too quick for there to be a redesign already, but she seemed really sure about it. I could see, maybe, a freshening up of the grill, maybe the dashboard, but not a complete redesign.

She's dazed and confused. No way Toyota is gonna do a total redesign after two years. The 05 Tacoma already got a pretty good size increase, so I couldn't imagine much more unless Toyota wants to make the Tacoma a full sized truck and the new Tundra some super over-sized truck.

she is talking about the Tundra. Going to be made right here in San Antonio . . . now with my new garage (much larger) I may consider upgrading . . . ok done considering . . . Nah!

For everyday use the Taco is da poop!

Rumor has it they may offer a diesel? Anyone confirm this?

I though they usually re-design every 4 or 5 years... Within that time frame, don't they usually do minor changes like redesign headlights, taillights, maybe add sat radio, add HiD's, etc....

A redesign or new model takes a minimum of 5 years to fully launch into production. I know this because I work as a suspension development engineer in the auto industry. All OEM's go through multiple stages during the development process (mule vehicles, integration vehicles, and finally production intent vehicles). We are constantly doing validation testing and redesigning any failures along the way. Each level of this development takes about a year to complete. Along the way, you are also working with the manufacturing facilities and getting the necessary equipment, assembly lines, and tooling ready. If all goes well, five years later you will be in full launch mode and ramping up your production volumes for the general public. It is just not possible with the limited resources available (i.e., time, people, money) to make it all happen any faster. The other thing driving all of this is liability. No OEM or supplier can handle massive lawsuits or recalls. We do the five years of development to make sure the products meet or exceed customers expectations. I hope this sheds some light on why you don't see new models every couple years.

She is on drugs. The Tundra and not the Tacoma is moving up in size. That is why they adjusted the Tacoma up in size in 05. You should tell her they did make the Tacoma bigger----in 05!!!!!!!

All info indicates the new Tundra will be jumbo size. Here is a good rumor to start and there is reason to believe it may be true---since the Tundra will soon be jumbosize, the Tacoma is almost equal to ful size of a decade ago what happened to the original mini truck? Well, seems there is stirrrings to introduce an original size Toy Truck. Why, price point, entry level basic transportation, it is an empty niche now, much better off road, potential for hybrid drive in "delivery models". Lot's of reason for a new mini pick up.J

That information is Not true sales people what do they know . The Tacoma might get some tweaks for 07 But don't expect a full redesigned Tacoma because that will Not happen.Toyota has a set date and since the all new Tacoma came out in later half of 04 don't expect a New truck for a little wile Toyota all way's has a plan of action and 07 wouldn't fall into that category beleive me I tend to know this stuff very well..

Dazed and Confused... Now there's an awasome song and movie. The movie was pretty pointless, but still cool nontheless.
