Trenz billet grill insert or similar

I have a couple questions since I want to get a cool billet grill like so many of you have.

I really like the Trenz one the best since it has the cutout for the logo. I'm proud of my logo and don't want my grill to mask it. I was wondering what prices you guys paid for it, those of you that have that one? There aren't any others that have the cutout for the logo are there?

Also, I don't want to add any chrome to my TRD color matched '05 4x4 auto black access cab. All the billets out there are chrome or satin silver. I know for a fact the Trenz are only available that way. I was thinking of getting the satin finished Trenz, since it's cheaper, and just getting it painted or maybe even powdercoated black.

My truck is black, I've got black nerf bars, and black window tint. Next I'm gonna get a black bull bar and some sort of black billet grille solution. I think painting a satin finshed Trenz grill will give me the best effect. What do you guys think?

Naturally black wheels are on my radar. Specifically 17x9 American Racing Teflon coated Crater wheels...but that'll have to down the road.

I've ordered the TRENZ grille from AUTOANYTHING.COM for $139 w/free shipping(they were running a 10% discount at the time). I liked it because of the cutout for the logo and also the fact that it is a bolt over style, requiring no cutting of the original grille. I got the polished finish, as my truck is a SR5 with the chrome grille surround. I should have had it by now but it was delivered with the wrong finish on their first attempt. I have since re-ordered and it should arrive shortly.

I ordered a Trenz over a month ago from autoanything and still have not received it. I called they then called trenz and according to trenz it is on back order and would not be ready for shipping till 2/15. But I was promised 1/20 and 1/15 and they never held to those dates:mad:

IS this the grille you ordered?
http://www.autoanything.com/products...billet_grilles
The "Trenz Original Bar Billet Grilles"

Reason I ask so specifically is because they don't have a picture of the logo cutout, well they do, but it's next to the bumper grill product, not the grill I'm actually buying.

I'm going to get the black Lund screen insert. I want black, and this way I'm not paying for that expensive polished billet by Trenz just to paint it black. Plus I really like the look, it's cheaper, AND it has the cutout for the logo. PERFECT.

No thats not what I have ordered. Here is a pic of the one I ordered:

My order does not include the lower grille, just the upper and two small side inserts. I am concerned that my order, like Plow78's, is on back order. I also noticed that autoanything no longer has the polished finish as an option, only the brushed finish.

I received a email from someone over at toyotanation.com he received an email that his grille was about to ship. I have not received an email. I looked at my order confirmation and i ordered a "polished" grille

I have the same model tacoma with the chrome style stock grill. I like this one as it shows the original logo. I've heard a lot of different stories as to how these billet grills are installed though. Some say you have to cut your original grill and remove th logo to insert into the new billet grill, is this true? Cutting my original grill doesn't sound very appealing to me. I would rather be able to just bold on, or bolt over which ever the case.

What is the exact make and model of the Trenz Grill insert depicted in the picture posted by Frogg3r? I was on the site and there aren't pictures for the individual products. Do any of their products include lower insert too?

Are these the bolt over type (pictured above) or do you have to cut out the factory grill? If any of you have installed one before is it pretty easy? I want to get the one pictured but would like to find out some installation facts before I make the purchase. Thanks for any info.

It's a bolt over. You don't need to cut out the stock grille. Just be careful with the mounting tabs on the Trenz. You will need to shape the Trenz to fit over your stock and doing so may cause the mounting tabs to break. The key is to only bend the grille not the tabs. aloha

Has anyone heard anything or saw one of these covers below at the following website? I saw a bunch of these on ebay and was curious if anyone has any pics of one installed or your opinions on how you think it will look. Hubcaps, Hub Caps, Center Caps, Wheel Covers, Wheel Skins, Altezza Tail Lights, Chrome Accessories

Re: Trenz billet grill insert or similar

Does anyone have any tips for installing one of the Trendz Framed Perimeter Billet Grill? Has anyone installed one of these and were able to get a good fit? I purchased one and it does not come close to fitting. Some one posted a few spots up stating you have to bend the frame and I was wandering how I would go about doing this? According to the instructions the four tabs are supposed to go past the Stock grill but when inserted the bottom two will work but the top two are about 3-4 inches off. Why would they make a supposed custom fit product but not mold it to fit the curve of the grille I do not understand. I really like the look of these but I dont know if it is worth the trouble. Any help or suggestions to installing one of these sure would help. I am debating on sending it back because of the poor fit or trying to mold it myself. Thanks!
