So I was rear-ended by a careless driver on the way home tonight. From what I can tell, the rear bumper was pushed in, but there was no other damage (2005 Taco DC TRD Sport). I assume the frame is fine, although I'll have the dealer check it out to make sure. Anyway, I'm guessing that to replace it with a factory one would cost b/t $500-$700. If I can find a cool aftermarket one for the same price, I'd almost rather that. I've done some research and all I can find are the ones from Demello and All-pro. Are there any other companies out there making 05-06 rear bumpers? I like the All-pro one, but just wanted to see if there were any other options. Thanks in advance!

If you want to save some money you may be able to find a new bumper in a salvage yard, one that a Dealer had taken off for an aftermarket one. I had a Dodge Ram that I dinged the back bumper on a post. A Body Shop wanted $500 to replace the bumper. I checked in a junk yard and they sent me to a neighboring junk yard where I had my pick of about 8 brand new bumpers. For half the price and 15 minutes of my labor I had a new bumper.
If you were not at fault, which is usually the case when you are rear-ended, then you shouldnt have to pay anything out of your own pocket. So you should get a brand new bumper, installed at no cost to you at all... period. That includes a rental car while the trucks in the shop. The heck with going with a used bumper or parts when you have someone elses insurance toting the bill. I dont know if you were thinking of doing that, so I wanted to throw that in, except if you want to collect the money for the new bumper and turn around and install a used one and pocket the rest. For me, I paid for a new truck so I want it to be in the same condition as it was before.
Anyhow, I havent seen much out there for aftermarket bumpers that caught my eye. I wouldnt mind eventually swapping mine out to a heavier duty bumper, but I dont want one that looks like it should be only installed on a trail rig.

The other guy's insurance company will be footing the entire bill, including rental car etc. I just remember when I rear-ended someone years ago in my old 4runner, that I ended up getting an ARB front bumper instead of going factory. The ARB cost a bit more, but only like $200 or so.
In this case, since they're footing the bill, I was going to look into aftermarket stuff if I could find a nice heavy-duty version. However, I've only found Demello and All-pro. Any other options out there?

Check on ebay,
I rear ended my taco with a parking pole(bummer)
got mine already painted for $250, including shipping, I replaced it myself.
and they are at $450+tax at any dealer unpainted
good luck

Hey check this one out, it's crome, but sports looks good with chrome.
I like the Demello wrap around tube bumper but I`ll be happy with an old school dual tube bumper whenever someone gets around to building one.All that rock crawling armor stuff would just tempt me to get way too carried away.
