Default 2005 Tacoma 4 dr 4x4 automatic ridding rough

I have a 2005 Tacoma 4 door 4x4 Automatic and it has been riding really rough for a while now, my 1997 ford f-150 rides better then my Tacoma. I brought it to the dealer and they noticed it to, but they were trying to tell me that it was the tire that I put on my truck. They are saying that it is because I went from 265-65R17 to 265-70R17. They wanted to prove it to me so the dealer changed my tires back to the original size and tire that was on my truck hen I bought it. The results were still the same it still rides rough. Now they are saying maybe it because my truck is broken in or because it has a stronger suspension the other models.

Does anyone else have this problem? And what is your opinion?

I changed tire sizes on my 06 DC Sport the same as ou and have no issues with ride quality. It sits slightly higher, but that is all. Something sounds funny to me. I would get a second opinion.

was it always a little rough? did you notice a change after your switch the tires? Have you asked ealer to change out shocks as a trial? I also have a 2005 but the 4x2. About same milage as you. Nice ride as always.

I really don't intend to insulate anyones intelligence but, did you check the air in the tires? Sometimes service people pump up tire pressure way over what it should be. If you checked the air, did you try a different gauge?

Is it possible for the shocks to wear out in 14,000 miles? I read once that factory shocks cost around $5.00 each.

Over inflated tire pressure and/or an improper tire balance will result in the symptom you mentioned.

Mine seems a bit rough as well but after all it is a truck and came from a Grand Cherokee.

You have the same dealership as I do so you must be in the same city. I could check it out for ya and see what yer talking about and maybe shed some light on it. Maybe arm you with some info to bring into the dealer.

Are you Access Cab or Double Cab?

I replaced my 2005 Pre Runner OEM shocks (22,000 miles) with TRD sport shocks front and rear. I thought my truck had been riding rough. Turned out the front right and both rear shocks were bad. I wouldn't have known this if I hadn't replaced the shocks. Ask the dealer to take off the shocks so they can be checked for compression and rebound. With mine you could compress them very easy and the rebound would take several minutes.
