The title says it all... are they worth the price compared to other wheels that are half the price? Or are you paying for the label?
I've always believed in you get what you pay for, thats why I drive a Toyota, so if they really are worth it I'll bite, if not I'll save the money and use it for something else. Winter is right around the corner and I'm debating on buying new tires or not, and get rid of these Rugged Trails that seem to have a bad rating for just about everything including snow. I probably wont stick around Vermont after this winter, so I dont really want to buy snow/winter specific tires. To ease the pain of tire swapping, and of course wanting aftermarket wheels, I'd like to order a wheel/tire combo and get it over with. Probably go with the BFG All Terrains.
Thanks for any comments.

They are great wheels. But. I have seen many of the polished versions become tarnished in a matter of 4-6 months! EKKK. I know the polished versions require much up-keep. As for the chrome stuff. Its tuff. You still have to keep up on them; as with every wheel, they don't tarnish half as fast as the polish.
IMO. I see Weld Wheels on SD truck more than anything. (Superduty) I was going to run the Cheyanne on my Tacoma but $395 a wheel! Ill take my basic Eagle Alloy ProComp wheel and with the money I saved have the professionally posished every 6 months.
But. If its what you want, don't let the price hold you back, buy what you want, is your have to compermise you could end up un-happy and in a worst pickle than before.
I've personally had two different Weld wheels on my Tacoma (Cheyenne's and now Velociti's). Personally, (both sets in chrome) I've experianced chrome peeling on both sets though weld's customer service has been very good and they have replaced the chipped wheels without questions asked. Personally I went with the Velociti this time around because there wasn't a knockoff wheel that matched them unlike the Cheyennes.. I figure if I'm gonna pay their outrageous prices, I want something that doesn't have a look a like.

not worth it, it's a domestic truck thing anyway....go for something in the atx series from american racing. save yourself hours of your life polishing them.

Dumb question.....point me in the direction of the knockoff wheel for the Weld Cheyenne. I can't afford the Welds but might could afford the knockoffs! Which manufacturer makes the knock offs and who sells them?
AR stuff isnt too bad, whether their purchase is a good or bad thing time will tell.
I'll probably hold off now until spring time to order some new wheels. I'm ordering new tires tonight, Id like to get new wheels along with them but I hate to see them get all crappy with the road grime, salt, etc. I dont even like having my Tacoma in Vermont, knowing this is a high rust area because of all the salt they throw down. As long as I wash the truck regularly it should be ok. By spring I'll have decided to stick around here (and buy a winter beater) or move back out west.

If you have a local les schwab tire center, they will have this wheel available. The look a like is made by American Racing I beleive.. the actual wheel at schwabs is called the "ALLIED TYPE 896." Pretty much the difference is the outter ring on the wheel... rather than bead lock looking rivits on the weld wheel, the AR wheel has oval notches..
It appears that the Allied 896 in the Les Schwab catalog is actually the Renegade 6 manufactured by Raceline wheels (www.racelinewheels.com). Looks similiar to the Weld wheels and in some ways looks nicer.
