I sold my 08 taco because I HATED the seats...now have 06 tundra limited w/ power seats. they are about 4-5 inches taller. I did not like the 07 tundra, so I went w the 06

Your garage still states an 08 Tacoma ????

I am looking to go to a Tacoma soon I think. Sounds like I better take a good LONG test drive.

I'm 6'1" /195 and think that the Taco seats are pretty comfortable but could stand to be more adjustable. My other car is a BMW 3 series and those seats are lower than the Taco seats and, if anything, are even more comfortable. The difference is in their ability to adjust to what is comfortable to YOU. The bimmer seat, in addition to the Taco's fore and aft, lumbar, and back tilt adjustments, also allows you to raise and lower the front part of the seat, to change the pitch of the seat. Some people prefer a nearly horizontal surface to sit on and others (myself included) prefer more of a backward pitched seat so your thighs get more support. I also like to vary that pitch on long trips to avoid my legs becoming too fatigued from being in just one position. The problem with the Taco seats is more of a function of the inability to adjust them than merely being too low. Since I don't know of any way to make them more adjustable, I'm looking into ways to slightly raise the front so as to permanently have them tipped back a little more. But that's just my personal preference.

Overall, they're not bad seats. My last truck was a loaded GMC Sierra and even though that electric seat sat up high and had lots of adjustments, it also felt too flat on long trips so I could never really get comfortable in it. I always had the feeling that I was sliding off the front of them. The Taco seats could stand some improvement in adjustability but I find them to be more comfortable than the GMC's were.

Is the dash kinda high in the Tacoma too ? I mean from the floor. If so,I'm sure that doesn't help feeling like the seats are too low.

In Orlando at Disney now, which is the first road trip I've taken with mine. It was about 470 miles and I have no complaints. I'm 6' 230lbs and had back (herniated disc) surgery 2 years ago (still have minor problems). So, if anyone would have a reason to complain, it would be me. I think the seats are fine but as stated above, could be more adjustable. I feel that the issue isn't the seats themselves but the steering wheel. It BARELY telescopes and tilts compared to other vehicles I've owned.

The seating position is kinda car-like... you sit low in relationship to the floor, so your legs stick out in front of you... similar to a typical car.

In many trucks, the seat is higher in relationship to the floor. You sit more upright, a bit more like sitting in a kitchen chair -- and your legs angle downward at a steeper angle (from the knees down). If you're used to truck seats like that, the more carlike seats of the Tacoma may not seem quite right in a truck.

They are quite comfortable for most (including me) -- just might be better if they sat a bit higher.

Make any sense?

I was thinking the opposite because my feet always hit the bottom of it when driving with boots on.

The seats remind me of my 85 Z-28 from the distant past except they dont recline all the way back to get some nookie. Kinda the same ratios but they are 4 wheeling disadvantage for one needs to know (be able to see)where all the tires are at all times. A truck leveling kit only makes the lack of near vision worse up front. Takes a while to get used to guessing where the front bumper is. After 3 years I still error on the side of caution in those Oh chit moments except for the day I miss judged a wash out and hence parked my truck in it.

An up and down adjustment would be nice but my 5'10" 200 pound bucket fits nice and comfy in them. Still a major improvement from my 93 Dakota which was a real A$$ number after an hour.
