I'm 6'1" /195 and think that the Taco seats are pretty comfortable but could stand to be more adjustable. My other car is a BMW 3 series and those seats are lower than the Taco seats and, if anything, are even more comfortable. The difference is in their ability to adjust to what is comfortable to YOU. The bimmer seat, in addition to the Taco's fore and aft, lumbar, and back tilt adjustments, also allows you to raise and lower the front part of the seat, to change the pitch of the seat. Some people prefer a nearly horizontal surface to sit on and others (myself included) prefer more of a backward pitched seat so your thighs get more support. I also like to vary that pitch on long trips to avoid my legs becoming too fatigued from being in just one position. The problem with the Taco seats is more of a function of the inability to adjust them than merely being too low. Since I don't know of any way to make them more adjustable, I'm looking into ways to slightly raise the front so as to permanently have them tipped back a little more. But that's just my personal preference.
Overall, they're not bad seats. My last truck was a loaded GMC Sierra and even though that electric seat sat up high and had lots of adjustments, it also felt too flat on long trips so I could never really get comfortable in it. I always had the feeling that I was sliding off the front of them. The Taco seats could stand some improvement in adjustability but I find them to be more comfortable than the GMC's were.
