I've been reading several threads about the low seats height on the new Tacos and wanted to see how big a deal this is. I'd go check it out myself, but I'm in Korea and there are no Toyota dealers here. I'm 6' tall, so do you think the low seat height will be an issue for me? If someone could post a pic of the interior showing the driver seat height, that would be awesome. Thanks in advance for your input.
It won't be an issue at all for you. My wife and I are both short, and though I would prefer another inch or so of seat height (adjustable would be great!), it's not a serious problem for us. Think of it as being similar to the seating position in a car. It's only too low if you expect to be sitting up higher off the floor as in some trucks. I don't have pics, but you might find something at Toyota's website.
BTW, welcome to the board, and what are you doing in ROK? Military? If so, thank you for your service, it is very much appreciated!
On the other end of the spectrum I am 6'4 and have no problems with the low seats. I find them more comforatable than sitting up high. There is plenty of legroom, I don't even have the seat all the way back you are stretched out more instead of sitting upright.
I'm 6 feet 220 lbs and the seat height seems just about right to me on the 07 Tacoma. My last truck was a Ford Ranger and the seat height seems about the same as on the Ranger if you've driven one of those. I was really surprised to see that this was even an issue.
You can fix the seat hieght by rolling the back adjuster. It bring your forward if you need to see more, or backwards, if you're pretty tall. It doesn't make that much of a difference, but some.

Not sure I understand this -- are you referring to the lumbar (lower back) adjustment? I guess it might scoot you forward in the seat, just a wee bit...

I'm 6'3" 220. I have an access cab. I still have about 2" I can move my seat back. My friend has a double cab, and I've noticed his seat moves back farther. He seems to have it all the way back and he's 6'1" 190. It all depends on your preferred driving position. I have no problem with the so called "low" seating. I actually like it. For what its worth, I don't think a pic in this case would help you out.

yeah I'm sorry, thats what I'm talking about. It helps just a tad bit.
Actually I found it a little low for wheeling I like to see whats in front of me so I added some foam under the okoles in the seat and the back now it`s perfect.
The only drawback is if I try to get the last of the coffee or water out of a cup/bottle the dang thing hits the roof
The seat in my friends new FJ not only adjusts front and back but "telescopes" up and down I`ve been meaning to measure it to see how easy it would be to do a swap when shes not looking

Thanks for all the input. I had a Frontier before coming to Korea, and had no issue with the seat height at all. I assume the Tacoma seating is about the same as the Frontier, but got concerned that maybe this wasn't the case when I read about some of the complaints. Based on your input, it sounds like it won't be an issue.
Splicer - Yep, I'm in the Army. Over here for a one year tour and currently freezing my butt off! Thanks for your support.
For a prerunner that sits as high as this one does, I thought an adjustment on the seat would have been helpful. The seating position is more like a car than a truck. I've been driving suv's/trucks for awhile and I'm used to sitting up higher. I guess it depends on what your used to.
I hate the low seat in my new 08 tacoma. I only test drove for a few minutes but the first time I drove over 30 min. I noticed how much I hate it. I wish I could find some how to raise it up.
I may try the foam under seat covers if nothing else....OR SELL IT
