2007 hoods dimensions changed ?

From what the parts guy told me their is a 2" difference in the Off road vs. Sport hood.

Has anyone swapped a 2007 hood?

If not this may be a thing of the past...

Yeah the sport hood has a difference,....in the hood scoop! I'll let you ask around though to get more advice

Only way to know is to find someone who swapped a 07.

The parts guy at my dealership said he bought a Offroad and ordered the hood painted it and then found out it didn't fit... That would suck.

If I can find a guy who's swapped an 07 hood (which I haven't seen yet) then I'll order a hood, but I'm not gonna blow 700+ to find out.

Ask him where the 2" difference is -- then measure both to see for yourself. I thinks he's BS'n you... if they changed the hood dimensions, that would mean all-new stamping -- not just for the hood, but also possibly the cowling, fenders, grill, and associated support hardware. It would also mean they changed this from the '06 to the '07 models, which from all appearances are the same. The 2" difference is the height of the scoop. You need to talk to a different parts guy.

FWIW they said it would require changing the grill and fenders.

I might measure it when I get my truck, it'll be here around Feb 15th.

Thanks, a measurement would put this to rest -- I cannot imagine why that particular model would be dimensionally different.

The dealership where I work as a product advisor swapped a hood from a 2007 TRD Off-Road & Towing Access Cab (no scoop) for a hood from a 2007 TRD Towing & Sport D-Cab for a customer that wanted that (hood scoop only available on X-runner and TRD D-Cab in Canada). Perfect fit as far as I could tell. Hope that helps!

When I purchased my 07/TRD Off Road 4X4 Access Cab it came with a standard hood. I paid the $800.00 and got the scooped hood. Dealer installed but no complications that I'm aware of.
Anyone need a 2007 stock hood I've got one for sale.

Most sheetmetal parts are heavily boxed to prevent damage. Some bigger items give W x L x H dimensions as well as gross weight to help in estimating shipping fees, and to help ascertain how much shelf/warehouse space a certain item requires. I bet someone was looking at gross boxed dimensions and seeing a 2" taller space requirement due to the ~ 2" higher hood. Some small parts quote cubic inches, or 50 units require 62 cubic inches of bin space.
