Well I just picked up my new '06 Toyota Tacoma (base model, 4 cyl. auto) last night at the tail end of an all-day Michigan snowstorm (6 inches?). My dealer's salesperson even drove over an hour round trip into the back roads country to pick me up and give me a ride back to the dealership for delivery of the Taco. The truck drives like a dream, very quiet and smooth. I didn't even bother to turn on the radio as like to listen to my new vehicles to get used to the normal running sounds when new, that way you have a comparison when something is eventually out of whack (not often on a Toyota). First thing I did was spray off the road salt when I got close to home (that is murder for Michigan vehicle bodies), pop in a large black plastic cargo box in the rear truck bed. It's from my Tundra, I used it as a camping supply box on my long road trip adventures, and the box fits perfectly in the back of the bed behind the rear wheel wells with top at rail level. The Toyota bed mat also helps to keep things from sliding around. Will order Performance Products OEM style bench seat cover (they were great looking on my past vehicles), Catch-Alls or Husky liners to catch the Michigan slush, and a fog light kit.
I chose the no-charge Tires-for-Life option at delivery at the dealer, since this is mostly a business vehicle I'm probably will not be doing any mechanical or lift mods. OEM tires are FREE for the life, as long as you own the vehicle, just pay for balancing, mounting & tire stem, and also I paid the $40.00 one time fee road hazard for life, to pay for all future tire failures. The dealer may be surprised when I need tires every 20,000 miles, as I drive down gravel roads every day, they really wear tires quickly, but that's the deal! Just have to follow the maintenace schedule to a tee and service at the dealer, which I do anyway, so it should work out in my favor, as the cost is almost nothing out of my pocket.
This makes my sixth new Toyota pickup from Dunning Toyota - Ann Arbor, they are the best for customer service. I have driven Toyota trucks over 775,000 miles the last 23 years, starting with an '82 SR-5 pickup w/stick shift, bought used. Looking forward to long and happy truck life experience with the new '06 Tacoma!!!

Re: Welcome to TundraSolutions.com! - New Members/Tacoma Owners Introduce Yourself Here!
Hey,
I just got my truck a few months ago, and I really enjoy it. Of course, I already put on a brush guard and side tubes.
Some things I want to do include
a soft cover that allows me to use the cleats (researching this one before I ask questions)
Maybe put in a power outlet in the bed (like the TRD/sport)
I think the stock 4X4 tires look soooo thin, so I will have to get some beefier rubber with one of these toytec lifts I keep reading about.
I might think about this 'black headlight mod' I have been reading about on this board, but not really sure yet.
I appreciate the collaborative efforts on boards like these, and hope to post many stupid questions in the future!

Hi all, new member and new '06 Tacoma too, just love it, 6 speed sport access cab 4.0 V6, great motor, runs strong, no rattles, spring noise or any other issues that i have read about, maybe those are all fixed for '06. I'll be around offering help when i can.

Re: Welcome to TundraSolutions.com! - New Members/Tacoma Owners Introduce Yourself Here!
Hi,Taco owners.
I'm "Redmexitaco"from Kendall in Miami,Florida.I purchased
an '05 Taco Pre-runner ,V6,DC,Extended Bed aprox.7 months ago.The truck
came with 18" BBS rims.I noticed a vibration problem above 40 mph, took it
back to the dealer and they performed a "FORCE BAL." > the situation was
resolved.
Aside from this,I've been super happy with"THE MEXICAN"<this vehicle was built in
a Toyota plant in Baja.
In short,I'ts been great discovering "TUNDRA SOLUTIONS" site.Hope it stays
around for a long,long time.
Congratulations goes to the moderators/members/others involved.Great Job!!!
Re: Welcome to TundraSolutions.com! - New Members/Tacoma Owners Introduce Yourself Here!
I'm going into the dealer on Monday to sign the papers on my '06 Tacoma double cab long box sport. Farewell to the Tundra! The only thing that concerns me is towing my 19' travel trailer, the tundra worked flawlessly. With the towing capacities being close to identical hopefully there won't be any issues.
Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!
