Howdy All,
I'm in the process of ditching my Ford Ranger for an 06 Double Cab 4WD Longbed with the TRD Sport Package and the tow package. It is mostly going to be used for commuting and mountainbiking trips so I'm already snooping in the rack threads.

Hey, guys. I've been "lurking" on here quite a bit and just recently decided to join up. I'm a former owner of an extended cab '01 Tacoma SR5 that I had to unfortunately sell a couple of years ago. (Infant twins in car seats wouldn't fit into the cab

). But my wife and I picked up a Prius in November and I'm hoping that a new Tacoma (a DC this time

) will be in my future. Thanks for all the good info.

A month ago I purchased a 06 Tacoma TRD sport 4x4, access cab, silver. The truck was an early Christmas and belated retirement purchase. Now that I am retired (at 54), my wife and I have more time to explore the back roads. After 28 years of working in fire, decided its time to enjoy life.

I came across this site via ToyotaNation forum. Both sites are great for information and discussions regarding the truck. I am looking forward to joining in when I have things to offer.

I am a new member here and just want to say hello to all. I own a 2005 Tacoma TRD 4x4 Sport Dbl Cab and really have enjoyed the truck. This site has provided me with many valuable articles and write-ups concerning the new 05-06 model Tacoma. I am currently about to install a Toytec 2.5" lift on my truck running stock wheels and 265/70R17 BFG's. That's all the help I think this truck needs,,,,it's pretty darn sweet right out of the box.
It's nice to have a place such as this on the Internet to come and read good quality material about something that is so dear to most of us.....

Hi all, i'm back. Use to own a Tundra and roam this site.....sold it for 05 Mitsubishi Evolution, drove it like a stole it, dumped alot of money into it, drove that for the past 10 months and decided that was enough. Missed a truck, so now im back. Today i picked up a 2006 Silver Tacoma Prerunner, Double cab 4x2 V6, TRD Off Road.....its good to be back. Cant wait to start the moding all over again! I think i got a a damn good deal as well, $100 over invoice......which made it about 23,400 then tax and license.

Hi!

New to the boards...currently have a 98 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT sedan. Still love the Subarus, but miss that truck feeling.

So I'm looking at what you guys affectionately call 'Tacos'. Kind of like us calling Subarus, 'Subies'.

Anyway, I'm liking what I see on the boards...very informative and welcoming!

I haven't gotten the truck yet, but looking at 98-02 Tacomas. Must be 4x4 and auto. Prefer xtra cab, but don't mind the regular. 4 or 6 cyl doesn't matter much either. I'm actually shooting for the 4 since I have a 50 mile commute 1 way every day. 27k miles a year hurts a bit.

The Tacoma had the best reliability ratings and MPG out of the compact truck scene....but I'm preaching to the choir at this point.

Any links to threads, or items on used Tacos to keep an eye out for would be greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to say hey to you all. I hummed and hawed over it for a few weeks but I did decide that the Tacoma was the truck for me. I picked up my 2006 DC SB 4X4 last week and am loving it. She's got the PY sport and towing packages, as well as the six disc chager upgrade.

I'll be doing more lurking and researching than actual contributing for now, but I look forward to having things to say and fully participating in future board discussions.
