Default Howdy!

Hello all!

After much research and test-driving, today I traded in my 1997 Dodge Dakota for a brand-spankin' new 2005 Tacoma... 4x4, Silver Streak color, access cab, TRD Sport package.

And I just discovered that the new Tacoma has been named Motor Trend's Truck of the Year, beating out the Dakota, Frontier, and others.

Talking ITS HOWWWDDEEEE YA'LL (in Texan)

Welcome to Tundra Solutions SeanK13 and djhannu!!

From what I have seen the new Tacoma's are the cats meow. Which is great, because we have plenty of avid Tacoma people here. The TRD package seems like bone stock can handle most offroading trails. When you get into the heavy rock climbing, then a lift kit and some suspensions mods may be in order. Please check out the offroad forum for more specific questions.

Welcome to Tundra Solutionsjayotto4!!

Man that is a great color you chose for you Tacoma. How is the bed and new hp working for you. It is kinda sad (for me) to think that you V6 puts out as much hp as my V8 02 Tundra. But I can't wait until I get a new one. Until then I am going to enjoy mine. Enough about me, what is that behind your two Toyos in those pictures? It is a dune buggy/tractor? Inquiring minds want to know. Please check out theoffroad forum so you can share your experiences of your past vehicles.

Smile Hi all.

Had my radiant red DC prerunner with SR5 and tow package for about a week. Only issue is the suspension noise (build date 10/04) but know that Toyota will come through. Love the truck. Was days away from buying a Nissan Titan. Saw the 05 Tacoma at the last minute and I was sold.

Not too big or costly in gas as the Titan, easier to drive/park, and not too small to fit the kids and the carseats. Perfect. To top off those reasons, the dealer gave it up for 600 over invoice. Nissan dealers here in Kansas City are still not dealing on the Titan and weren't even thinking of coming down to realistic prices, even with the 04 Titans with the rebate. I wonder why over the last year I have seen more 05 Tacomas here in the last two months than the 04 Titans all year. I think that Nissans one year truck selling frenzy will be cooled severly by the new Tacoma. Yes, they are different markets, but I think that the Titan was mostly bought by people like me who didn't want to loose their but on resale with the domestics but needed something larger than the 04 Frontier or 04 Tacoma. The Nissan Titan was the only option for me so I planned on buying it, until now. I think Toyota has a big hit on their hands.

I'm new here. I will be ordering a 2005 Tacoma D-cab 2wd v6 TRD Sport within the next month. The only problem I have is choosing a color. I want Radiant Red or Indigo Ink Pearl, but I haven't seen either of these colors in person. No dealership has either of these in my surrounding area.

Thoughts?

Anyone have PICTURES?
you can email them to me

Thanks!

Welcome to Tundra SolutionsPeaveyFender!!

You might consider checking out the photo gallery. There is a permanent link at the bottom of every page labeled "Toyota Photos", you can search the fields of every picture by a keyword. Such as Tacoma, or a color. Hi, sorta new here...been trolling and posting odds and ends. Still trying to decide between 05 Tacoma and 05 Frontier. I am leaning heavily towards Tacoma. Why am I buying a new truck? I had an '89 Toy Pickup that blew up on me (water pump died on me and I overheated the engine--didn't catch the overheat fast enough). I guess I can't complain...I didn't pay much for the darn thing and it had 247k miles.

Welcome to Tundra Solutionsmktacoma!!

Which ever your choice (cough) Tacoma.... Read up on the 05's and see what to look for when buying. I am sure that Toyo will go 200k if you let it. Hello. Lurked at TundaSolutions back in the very early days (2000), because I missed my '97 Tacoma SR5 4x4 extended cab, and just came back recently.

I now own a radiant red, 2003 S-Runner stepside, with TRD 5 piece bodykit, LSD, over the rail Rhinoliner, and an aftermarket slider sunroof. No modifications yet, other than a 5" airbox mod and an Amsoil filter. Used only for fair weather fun and light hauling, so only 8,100 miles in 2 years. Yep, it's a toy.
