Newbie here. I just bought my '07 double cab long bed on Labor day. I plan on towing my teardrop trailer with it. I only have 200 miles on it but I really like it. I just joined today so I have a lot of reading to do.

Hey all., I actually started my Tacoma obsession a while ago with the HILUX on a trip to the Caribbean. I ordered the soon to be mine 2008 Tacoma Dbl Cab OFF ROAD. Not sure when I will get it but its ordered and I am vehicle-less until it gets here so I hope its soon. Anyways, after lurking in CustomTACOS and TTORA and seeing this site referenced so often. I figured I had to join. Now I have to read. I hope the join fee was worth it.

Hi - can you tell me what type of horse trailer you are towing? I'm curious what the empty weight is, and what size horse you have. We're considering a Tacoma to pull a two horse (with one horse in it) but want to be sure we'll be okay. The weight isn't an issue - we'll we well under if we get a featherlite and tow just one horse. But I've always used full size trucks to tow and it's hard to get my mind around whether a Tacoma can really do the job. According to the specs, it can. But we're more interested in real-world experience. Thanks!
Bought an 06 Tacoma V6 4x4 Quad Automatic with tow package back in September 06. So far I love the truck. I live in a small Texas town and my daughter is into horses. I've towed a 2 horse trailer (with 1 horse as passenger) and the truck pulls it great.
One quirky thing I've noticed about the truck is the way it behaves when you let off the gas and just coast. At certain points during the deceleration the truck seems to decelerate more drastically (almost like you have manually downshifted). I'm used to a vehicle just smoothly slowing down when coasting, so that is why it feels so strange to me. If anyone else has noticed this, I like to hear about it.[/quote]

Hi all,
'Been lurking around the site for a month or so while my truck was on order...
Just picked it up last night...
2008, 2WD, 4cyl, manual, SR5 w/ bed extender.
So far, so good (except the radio tuner... horrible reception).

^Same color.
Hi, got mine a month ago. Just found this site; very nice. Same name on "other" sites, too. Got a few more mods I'll be getting soon like a bedcover (hard, probably), wheels, and nerf bars.

Hello Everyone.
I am the proud owner of a 2001 Tacoma PreRunner (4dr) with 100k miles. My dad found this site and told me about it, so here I am. Haven't had much time to navigate around, but hopefully I can get some answers here. My truck has been great to me, but recently been having probs with it starting. Dealership just did an overhaul service on it and replaced just about everything. Still having probs starting. Anyone have any ideas???

Nice Site,
Just picked up an 07 basic Tacoma 4 cyl S/B 5 speed. Its been a great little truck for the first 4 months, We drive about 8 miles of dirt road /desert washes every day, so far so good, Truck got stuck 'cause the stock firestones suck in the muck. (when it rains) Firestones to be replaced by Toyo Open Country LTs very soon.

Welcome Deepthought,
I just got an 2007 access cab, v-6, 4x4, 6 manual. I got 1500 miles on her. So far, I love this truck! Only thing bugging me is these TSBs I'm hearing about all the time and if this should be an automatic thing to get done or not? Maybe the Canadian Tacoma's aren't involved?
By the way, how do you like your 6 speed. We are in the minority you know, compared to the Automatic. I love mine, it has just taken me a bit of a learning curve to get smooth and skilled with the shifts, etc. How about you?
It's an awesome truck.

Hey everybody. I'm new to the site but not new to Toyota. I had an old T100 for sometime and was fortunate to upgrade this summer to the Tacoma. I absolutely love it and am looking forward to making some mods and add ons with the help of all your collective knowledge.

Help me I'm going crazy!!! I bought a used 05 tundra and found the cargo light was missing the bulbs so I put the new bulbs in and found out why they were missing. The cargo light has a mind of it's own! sometimes it goes off after a short period, sometimes it stays on until you lock the truck then it will go off, sometimes it stays on when you lock the truck but then you have to unlock it and lock it again before it will go off. I love a challenge but I'm about ready to take the bulbs out again. Does anyone have any ideas???
