Hello All!
I have an 06 Tacoma 4X4, silver, with the partial back seat. This is the replacement for the 95 that would not quit running. The shiny new one lured me away. the 95 was a replacement for the mid 80's 4x4 that never stopped running even after most of it rotted away.
A friend of mine asked a transmission repair shop owner in Boston about the transmissions on the new Ford And Chevy trucks. He said they are good for 80 to 100K miles. My friend asked about the Toyota trucks. He said, I don't know we have never seen one fail. These are good trucks!

Thought I'd say hi. Own an '05 Dbl Cab 4x4 Lng Bed (since Dec 3, 2004). Love this truck! On my 3rd set of tires at 43K miles (BFG All Terrains) after not being pleased with the Dunlops (which last 13K miles) and the BFG Rugged Trails (nice looks but as you can see I need to get through that snow).

Yet, I change my 06 Tacoma oil but accidently drain the Automatic transmission fluid. I couldn't find the refill plug, does anyone know where is the refill plug for a 06 Tacoma automatic transmission? Please email me at suemoua7@csufresno.edu or just reply, cause I'm trying to find it for the last two days. Thank you

There is a special toyota tool that should be used to refill that transmission. You should take it to the Toyota DEALER. There is a special procedure that also has to be used to set fluid level. It also takes special Toyota WS fluid.
It has to be done at a certain temperature and done with the TOYOTA scan tool to read the temp.
Here's the instructions on "HOW TO"
Good Luck

Re: Welcome to TundraSolutions.com! - New Members/Tacoma Owners Introduce Yourself He
Greetings! I am a new member here. Just bought an 07 Taco Dbl. Cab 4wd, 6-spd, V6 Sport. Not a newbie to the Tacomas by a long shot. The last one I owned was a 2002 Taco Dbl. Cab 4wd limited supercharged; prior to that one I had a 98 Tacoma ext-cab 4wd limited supercharged, and my first Toyota was 95 4wd ext-cab truck V6. I guess you could say that I have a thing for force air induction! But paying for premium unleaded basically killed that. My other vehicles are a 06 4Runner SR5 and two Toyota Celica All-Trac turbos! Personally I think the 05 and up Tacomas are by far the best they have come out with. The V6 engines on these things are very strong and responsive, and much more comfortable which is another reason why I purchased this one. I guess thats enough about me....I'll be lurking around and posting as often as I can. By the way the current mods on my Taco are: TRD cold air intake and the TRD Cat-back muffler...looking for some good headers if anyone knows of some!!

Hi all,
I just bought a 2008 tacoma double cab with side airbags. (I had a 2006 prerunner access cab with 10k miles on it up until two weeks ago when I got t-boned and rolled...ended up on the drivers side of the truck without a scratch to me...the truck was totalled). I really loved the truck and replaced it with the double cab for the insurance check plus a little $$.
I have spent most of the day looking for seat covers for the truck and other mods that would help (side vent covers, bug deflector, and either a tonneau cover or a topper). I would greatly welcome advice or help regarding where to find this stuff. I have tried forum searches, but with limited luck. The main thing I want right now are the seat covers (must work with the airbags).

Great site--just purchased a black, 2007 tacoma access cab 4x2 yesterday and can't wait to drive it today! Looking forward to learning more about the truck through this site.
