Another OKC area (Edmond) Tundra owner checking in. I don't wonder out of the general discussion area much. There are a bunch of Tundras up on the north side of town, 1st and 2nd generation tundras.
At the risk of hi-jacking this thread, I have an issue that would be of interest to Toyota owners in the OKC area, so this may be the best place to post it.
My 2006 Sienna fell victim to the dreaded driver's door popping noise, because of the defect in the door affecting 600,000 Siennas and the corresponding "Warranty Enhancement". I read up on the problem and knew the repair required extensive work to the door (5 days in shop and authorized loaner car).
Took it to Bob Howard Toyota for diagnosis and appointment for the repair. Bob Howard agreed the door needed the warranty repair, but refused to do it. Instead they said they could fix it in a hour by tack welding the defective part back together. Other owners have reported similar shoddy repair attempts that failed again. I refused their repair offer and left with the van. They refused to supply me any paperwork of the diagnosis at the time.
Took it to another dealership who diagnosed and then repaired the door per the TSB. They provided a new Camry loaner for five days. A week later I got a call from this dealership asking if I had already had the door fixed somewhere else (Toyota was denying to pay the $2500 bill for the warranty work). I informed them I had been to Bob Howard for a diagnosis of the problem but they certainly had not done any repair to the door. Turns out, Bob Howard Toyota billed Toyota for the repair, that they didn't do and had refused to do!!
