Well I am sorry I missed this meeting. I already had prior plans for a motorcycle ride that day but that was changed when my wife's brother was hospitalised last week in a coma, It appears he caught a virus infection that set off diabetes and invoked the coma? Really a weird situation and has our family in shambles at the moment. He is getting better but slowly. Just too weird that that could happen. So I am glad you guys had a great meeting!
There is a contactor's son who as I type, is in ICU due to a scratch on his leg that turned into an extremely serious infection. His boy is only 17 years old, was a picture of health. Now, they do not know if he is going to make it.
I never heard of that before either!
Like I posted Bill, well wishes are being sent your way.
Same here, Bill...
I know how devastating a serious illness in the family can be.
I too, send my wishes for a successful recovery from this sudden onset of illness for your family member. Hope the rest of the family is coping well.
Dan I know what you mean. Matt was very healthy and then a week before this thought he was coming down with the flu or something and went to the doctor and got shot. The progressivly got worse till his girlfriend on wednesday night knew something was wrong and could not wake him so called the ambulance. He was in dire condition then, but has since made leaps and bounds and yesterday was his first time on his feet in 6 days. So its looking good but this will change his life and how he has to deal with this. Only one person on his dads side of the family has diabetes history. If you ask me the infection was a coincidence and this was looming in the background for him. But thing do look good from here.
Wow, Anythingtoyota...I thought i had it bad...
Sorry i missed the meet guys, i was really looking foreward to it. Unfortunately, friday, my Mom got terribly sick, she was freezing cold with the chills, vomiting, had like 104-degree fever, and could barely walk. It was crazy. I've never seen her this sick in my life. In fact, my dad says hes never seen her this sick since they've been married...some 38 years! Anyway, sunday, she was still sick, but now shes coughing and still has between 100, and 104-degree fever, and she got up to go to the bathroom, and fainted in the hallway. I was standing next to her when she did, so i caught her, but it scared the crap outta me. we called for an ambulance, but cancelled the order, cuz she came to seconds later and felt ok. I think she just stood up too fast. Long story short, went to the docter Monday, he says it was "bad Bronchitis" , handed out some aniti-biotics and stuff, and now shes like 60% better.
Cant wait till the next meet. I hope i can make the next one.
Whew S-man!
Always scary...especially mom!
Sound like you guys have a handle on it and it looks like we do too! So next meet no-one in our families will pull this on us. Wish her a speedy recovery for us.
