Red face Doh!

I have to post a "thank you" to Floyd (iforce=horses).

Sunday I installed the Muth signal mirrors that Christine (HOTundra) got me for my b-day. I thought all was going pretty good, but......

After getting it all put back together, it decided to blow a fuse on me on a Sunday night.

There I was in the dark with windows that would not roll down, disabled locked, alarm going off when I was getting out of my truck.

I pull that door panel and checked fuses, wires, etc and couldn't find where the problem was. After many words that are not allowed on TS, Kat (the smart one) calls Floyd.

He helped me locate the fuse that you really had to look hard to see if it was blown. I mean I had that damn thing under a big magnifier. So off I go into the dark to locate this fuse, finally found it. (I bought all they had )

Well, I put the fuse in and the alarm worked, doors locked correctly but the passenger window would not roll up.

Kat: "I think we should call Floyd again."
ME:

RING RING...

Floyd: "Did ya get it fixed?"
ME: @#^%$%^ the side window still will not roll up.
Floyd: "Did you make sure that on the driver's control you don't have that window locked?"
ME: OH!

Thank Floyd for helping me out! Happy to post that everything is working correctly.

And I HATE doing electrical work......

it happens ...i once removed my roommate's stereo (she said i could have her sub), left the door open (the dome light was so dim it wasn't noticeable), the battery of course died, we took it in for a new battery and then found the stereo wouldn't work . after worrying and dire threats about hosed stereos and fried ecus, i removed the stereo to find...i hadn't plugged the wiring harness back in .

to this day they won't let me do electrical work on anything

That lock switch is a trickster!

Remember getting home one night in my '01 Seq. and trying to roll down the rear window. DAMN THING WOULDN'T WORK!

Terrible things run through your mind like, "Am I gonna have to tell my GM buddies that my new truck is already broke after bragging about its quality"

Wife finally said....Did you push that lock thingy? I locked them to keep Loraine (my daughter from rolling them down).

Yep.......High Tech.

no problem- Dan

I have had several cars come in for repair for that same problem.
Another one is that the a/c does not work and the a/c button is turn off.

Talking

Well, I kinda figured maybe someone else may run into the same problem one day. I never use those locks.

I am not ashamed to post that I can be a dumb a$$ at times....

Once again, thanks Floyd!

Likewise. I still consider it a miracle that flipping a switch on the wall causes a light on the ceilin' to come on...

My partner does the wirin' on our bikes. He explained the "magic smoke" theory of electricity right after I let the smoke out of one of `em. Now I just do engines and suspension work.

I can take a pic of them, but I do not have a digital camera. I'll snap a shot at them tomorrow.
