Default How about an annual Texas state Tundra meet

Just an idea that crossed my mind since I am having so much trouble organizing a NW Louisiana meet. I was thinking of creating a annual Texas state meet. A chance to bring together all the Tundra guys in the greatest state of this country and have a giant meet. Bring together the west Texas guys, east Texas, Houston, DFW, everyone in Texas. Location? I thought Austin would just be a nice central location for TX and its not all that far from the bigger cities like Houston, San Antonio, DFW just to name a few. If this meet could be big enough, I was thinking of contacting like one of the Toyota dealerships in Austin to see if they might want to sponsor this and set up a little area with some 2010 Tundras, see if we could get some vendors for truck accessories and things like that. I wonder how we would handle concessions. Love to get the input from you guys. What do you guys think?

You guys need to just keep posting about your meets to get people interested.
We used to have ALOT of meets here in Texas back in the early days of TundraSolutions, early 2000's.
We used to call the statewide meets "Lone Star Bash" back in the days. Tejas Toyota in Houston used to sponsor quit a few meets at there dealership for us back then too. We used to have meets in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin.
The very first meet the Texas guys ever had was at Bastrop State Park, total of 3 trucks showed up. BUT the meets started getting much bigger and more often after that 1st meet.
Anyway we used to have a GREAT time at those meets. You should be able to search for the old threads and pictures of the meets. Notice in the old threads people just kept talking to keep them going.
If one of you get good at setting up/organizing meets I even still have the original "Texas Tundras" banner you can use.

Thats cool. I think coming up with this idea and trying to plan it by the end of July isn't going to happen. More time is needed. The only real idea I have right now is maybe planning the meet along with the Texas Heatwave Show this July in Austin. Some ideas that were thrown at me about this meet is to have it along with some kind of event like an off roading park that has some easy trails for a stock truck to make it through or a cruise down a scenic highway. I would love to make this happen this year but I am just unsure of myself with the difficulty I am having starting a NW Louisiana meet. I appreciate the input y'all have given me so far. Keep the ideas coming.

If you are talking state wide, then I would suggest somewhere centrally located. Austin / San Antonio.. or you could always rotate.. I am trying to find time for my truck..its all paid off so now I can try and give it a little TLC.

Maybe at lake travis or canyon lake? I go up to bandera regularly to the river, just a small park, slow river, grilling and beer. Always a good time.

With our new email list for Tundra Meets in Texas....we should be able to organize at least 50-60 trucks for a state meet next year. We will plan it with Beez and get it organized to make it happen. We should be able to get sponsors for that meet in San Antonio or Austin....I know I plan on attending!!
