Default Places to go offroading in or near Houston?

anyone know of a place were you can legally go offroading near Houston?

I heard that Sam Houston Nat'l Park had some trails that allowed trucks, jeeps, etc... but I could not verify the info. I know atv and dirt bike trails are there, but not full sized vehicles.

There was a thread on Texas off roading a couple of weeks ago. There is an off road trail near Gilmer. My neighbor is into the Jeep thing and goes to Gilmer often.--Buzz

You can come to Galveston and try some of our streets.

Naw....better not.....your trucks may not make it.
