Thumbs up vacation

Hum, well the 3rd week of June I am going to Big Bend National Park and doing the Rio Grande guided raft trip for a couple of days, then some camping in the mountains.

Sometime in July we will go over to Port Aransas or South Padre Island and soak up some rays on the beach for a couple of days.

Oh can't forget spending at LEAST a day in Corpus Christi to do a "Corpus - Texas Tundra Meet". I will probably make a weekend out of that one. Hint, hint you Corpus guys.

Thumbs up Huh?

Nice idea Possum. I'm interested in who might be coming out to California to visit. We got lots of good weather and cool ocean to play in.........

Let's see.....a summer vacation? You mean a trip somewhere during the summer where you take your kids in a car (parents know what I'm talking about when they hear nails-on-the-chalkboard phrases like "Dad, are we there yet"? [500 times per hour] and "Dad, I have to go to the bathroom again, please find a bathroom")? Remember Chevy Chase in Summer Vacation? Voila! So Tundra parents, if that's your situation, and you see a guy in a white Tundra next to you looking over at you with a cheshire cat grin, please just ignore him, he's just remenicing.....

Actually, my bride and I are planning a few little mini-vacations, this would be the first year in the past 18 without the kids (they can watch the dog for a change....they owe me after taking them to Maui two summers ago for 10 days). One weekend for sure in Las Vegas, another definitely in Temecula (6/8 for the Hot air ballon and wine festival). Next come the desired vacations (see "deck" comment, below); one in July up north a bit to Paso Robles (another wine tasting Safari) and the Santa Ynez valley (where my hero Ronald Reagan and his missus still live). Another weekend maybe the Big Bear TS meet (mid July), and possibly a 3 or 4 day trip to Cabo San Lucas, but that's a BIG maybe due to when we can go and the temperature in late July/Early August (you can't even breathe down there in August it's so hot).

Course, to mess it all up, my wife told me I have to build a deck in the back yard (which I just started designing tonight), and that's a summer requirement. My bet is we'll only hit one of those mini-trips after the Temecula hot air balloon festival in June.

Cool vacation plans

North Carolina in June. Fishing all down the third coast until september 7, and then Isla Mujeres for a week. Camped at Canyon Lake Memorial Day weekend, full moon, pretty water, too many jet skis though. Summer camps will include Krause Springs, Sea Rim State Park, Big Shell-Little Shell, Rayburn.

Looks like I won't have to cut much grass, its already dying.

And maybe fishing on the Brazos . . .

hehe

Daughter wants to go to Schlitterbahn.....kinda preview what we will be getting in Galveston next year.

Probably will stay in San Antonio at the Menger and just drive there for the day. My oldest just loves San Antonio!!!!

Other than that....not much.....got an 8 month old so long driving trips are kinda out right now.

Cool summertime in texas

My vacation is sitting on the kitchen table right now. It's a $2500 IBM ThinkPad that UPS delivered on Monday . Guess I'll be doing the local thing when I take a week off in July....a day messing around down on the RiverWalk....Corpus day trip...then an "international" trip over to Nuevo Laredo, Mex. for a couple of days...then back to SA!.....hopefully a SPI Meet with Tundra guys/gals in August or a Houston Meet too. No cruises or out of state trips for me this year.
HAVE A GREAT SUMMER AND ENJOY YOUR VACATION TRIPS!!!

Hopefully I will be at Lake LBJ (not far away) for at least a day or 2 around that time. If I do I will give you a shout.

Yeah, that is real close to Inks. My date is certain, so if you're gonna be there at the same time, PM me and we'll set something up. I'll be in the Tundra with the travel trailer in Inks Lake State Park, so you could find me real easy.

Smile On the road again...

I just got back to SoCal a week ago after spending six days in Austin looking for a place to live. Looks like my summer vacation will be the 1400 mile road trip back to Austin in a few weeks with all of my stuff.
