There are some features here on TS.com that get overlooked.
I think I am going to create another monster like the flags...
Ya ever notice at the bottom of your postings when ya reply there is a place to "Rate this Thread:"...aww hell let's start doing it here in Texas and see what it does.
Also be sure to check out the "photos" button on profiles where you can "Post a Comment" and rate them as well about TSers pics.(Of couse ALL Texans and "Honorary" Texans get a 5!)
Hey cool...check out the Texas Board where it says Thread / Thread Starter / Replies / Views / Rating / Last Post, and the top right corner.... 5 STARS!
Okay Texans EVERY thread you reply on here in Texas RATE IT 5!!!
Dan
BTW...if I am not a Moderator anymore it's cuz LonV has had it with me!
You DO NOT have to reply to a post in order to rate a thread.
Just go to the thread and there is the box at the bottom that say "Rate this Thread:" then you have a choice, 5 being the best.
You cannot vote on locked threads, I tried and it gave me that message.
Some of the older threads were excepting the stars where others had not yet, so I do not know how many votes it takes to get the stars on it, but let's all just go to all the threads like I did and give them a 5 rating and we will have stars all in Texas.
There are a lot of threads that truly deserve a 5 rating for all the work that was put into the postings and posters.
I was not sure if only Hover, Super Moderators and myself could see the "Rate this Thread:" without a post reply.
We now know it takes OVER 2 ratings to get stars.
I see several threads still without any stars. Also a 5 star rating can drop by a lower rate of stars. So vote as you see fit.
Dad/Dan
BTW...If you have already voted on the thread you will get this message:

Hey, Hey what did I do? If nothing else it takes up alot of space .
BTW I get alot of PM's about all those damn antennas and radios. I also just bought a new set of underhood lights, but haven't installed them yet.

SAT----Couple of questions. Did you mount the back up light mod under the bumper, are the easy to tie in? been thinking about some under hood lights myself. I have a mercury switch and was going to build one but if they dont cost an arm and a leg i would just buy new. BTW-- I bought a set of Motorola 6220 walkabouts the other day. Have only used them once when my son and I went to pick up his new Taco. They are neat!! If you were going to buy a radar detector which one would you buy? Looks like they have gone up a BUNCH in price since I bought my last one.-- Buzz

Buzz yes I mounted the lights under the bumper, actually in 2 of the existing bumper mounting brackets. The instructions that came with the lights said to use the included "tie wraps" and mount them to the class 3 hitch. But after looking around underneath there I opted to mount them directly to the bumper. That makes them MUCH more secure and more out of the way. As far as hookin them up I opted to use a relay mounted in the drivers side kick panel to power mine. But I believe that you can just "tap" into one of the lights in the rear and make the install time alot shorter. Although remember these are 55 watt lights so it's not like you will be adding just another "1157" bulb. Sure does make a BIG BIG difference when I go to backup especially with the boat in tow. They sell these lights with all the wire brackets and hardware at Auto Zone for $25. Pep Boys is $30.
When I originally went to install my underhood light I wanted to use a mercury switch, but just could not find one anywhere. I looked everywhere, except a junkyard, duh, . So I ended up installing a switch, activated by the hood to turn the power on and off. The "new" lights I just bought look just like the reverse lights BUT are not 55 watt lights. I paid $8.00 for a set of them new.
You will sure like those new radios, we use them ALL the time here. Make sure you set them up using a sub channel setup. That way you will never hear anyone else except YOUR other radio. Lately we have been using channel 9, sub channel 11. Hence 9-11, easy to remember.
You are right about the "fuzzbusters" going up in price. My current one is a Cobra. I got it 3 years ago and only paid $60 for it. I am also looking for a new one but I am not one that can afford to pay $300 to replace it so I am gonna find a deal on a lower end one. Not sure what I will end up with but MYSELF I don't care for the Whistler brand, maybe others do. I also have mine hardwired and mounted beside the rearview mirror. But I also bought one of those universal power cords so I can also use it in the wifes car when I need too.
Lately we have been enjoying the power converter (400 watter) I got. Wife has been running her laptop off of it. Sure would be nice to have a 700-800 watter though.
BTW the "hardcopy" will come out in the fall, still have some more moddin to do yet.
