Howdy clee3!

Hi y'all.
Been hanging out on this forum since I decided to upgrade the CD player in my 2002 SR5 V8 Tundra and needed some technical insights. I use my truck for commutting and towing an RV. Just traded our 5th wheel in on a new Airstream. Now that I get my truck bed back, I'm having a SnugTop cap installed so the dogs can ride in relative comfort when I'm towing the Airstream. (If you're a dog owner you know that the dogs would rather be on the front seat but my wife objects to riding in the truck bed.)
I have been thinking about adding the supercharger. Anyone out there done that? If so, which dealer installed it for you or did you do it yourself?
My F250 PowerStroke started using about 4 qts of oil every 100 miles or so, so I figured it was time for a new truck. My wife has a 1993 SR5 4x4 and we also have an 1983 Camry with 270,000 miles on it, so we figured to get a Tundra to carry on a tradition. Problem is, the mix of option packages we want is apparently too odd for the dealers in the 5 state region and they have had to order us one, ETA unknown. Meanwhile, I am trying to learn what I can about this truck, so here I am.
We have a little place in the Sangre de Cristo mountains in Colorado where I plan to stretch the future 4x4 TRD Offroad options out a bit.
I am reading a lot about brake problems on the 2000-2002 Tundras. Somebody please tell me they got this fixed
MountainMan welcome to TS and to Texas Tundra country. We are sure you will not be disappointed with your new truck. If you haven't allready ordered yours you should give "Dianne Whitmire w/ Carson Toyota" a call. I will attach her info at bottom of this post. Her prices are pretty hard to beat, even if she is in California.
BTW you might have read but the Texas Tundras are having a Meet at Tejas Toyota, in Humble this Saturday. Check out this link for more details: TEJAS TOYOTA BBQ MEET - Saturday February 22nd!
You should be able to get ANY questions you might have answered there as well as checking out what everyone else has done to there trucks. Hope to see you there.

Check out the Carson Toyota web link in that a pop up menu will appear with some of there specials. She also does ALOT of custom orders for members here, again at prices that are hard to beat.

Well , after waiting 2 months, the wife and I decided to expand our criteria a bit for what we wanted on our new Tundra. Exactly 1 day later, Garry at Tejas Toyota found one ON THE LOT that matched. We finally got our Tundra! WooHoo!
It is a Limited with Phantom Gray Pearl outside and Stone Gray inside. We ended up with the TRD Offroad and Towing packages, and more buttons to push inside than the space shuttle. I have already been to Beaumont and back in it, and I couldn't be happier. There doesn't seem to be any nit-picky things wrong so far except the transmission is a little rough hooking up coming out of a rolling stop. I am hoping it will loosen up enough to allow a smoother downshift after a bit. I'll put up some pictures when I get around to taking some.
Congrats on your new 2003 Tundra! I can personally say that the folks at Tejas Toyota are a great dealership. They have been extremely generous with having meets for the Texas Tundras at their facilities. I know when I will purchase another Tundra, they will definitely get my business.
Please check out the threads of various meets that we presently have going on, hopefully you'll be able to attend one soon. There are many Texans that attend these meets that can offer a wealth of information, as well as checking out our rides.
Once again, welcome to Texas Tundra Country! We will be looking forward to your postings.
Dan
BTW...if you need any assistance please feel free to PM or post any questions I may help you with.
MountainMan sounds like a great truck, and bought from the best place around to boot. I would think after a 1,000 or so miles that tranny will loosen up. I think mine took a little longer than that though. Don't forget if you ever have to take it in for service or pick up some parts Tejas is the place to do it. Looking forward to checking out that new truck at the next meet, and again CONGRATS on the purchase.
Now its time to start thinking about what kind of mods you want to do.
