I've done a search and haven't seen mention of a club in the Austin Area. I am out east of Round Rock (Hutto) and noticed that there were a few posters from this area.
Anyone interested in meeting like every other month?
Any ideas on where to meet if so?

REMOVED: Formfit hood deflector. Loved the look but a clip went missing. Can't find one for sale without the $45 hardware kit!
Mods: 12V outlet relay "fix" to have power when ignition switch is off.
Gripes: Weak leaf springs that Toyota doesn't want to warranty, paper-thin paint, interference design motor, crappy rear mud guards that cost $78 each (local dealer wanted $100) and only last 25k miles. Front mudguards built differently! (better)
I find that I usually over commit myself on a regular basis but would be interested in trying to get together to look at what people are doing to their Tundras.
Be sure to email me about anything you put together.
There's about 15 other Texas Tundras getting together in Houston sometime in November if you're interested...
Yeah, I know what you mean about overcommittment. To add insult to injury, I work shifts so "regular" meeting days (ie-every 3rd Thursday, etc) don't work for me.
I guess I was hoping that somebody with a "regular" job already was coordinating meets in our area...but I'm willing to do something really low key, and every other month isn't toooo bad for a commitment.
Perhaps starting out with 1 or two Tundra owners having enchiladas, a couple margaritas or something then go out and start drooling at (not on) each other's trucks. If this "test" works out and we think it would be fun to meet up again, we could go from there.
When I lived in San Antonio and rode crotch rockets, we did similar stuff the first sunday of every month, REAL early in the morning. Started off with a high speed country-side ride, then stopped for lunch, had a gawking session afterward, then rode on home. Was fun, low-key, and met lifelong friends. So if we could manage 2 out of 3, it would be worth it.
Now, the hard part...to figure out a time that we're free and willing to do this.
Flores Mexican restaurant on Anderson Lane used to have some pretty damn good margaritas and on thursdays they're half off...Food for thought.
Let's keep up the dialog and exchange ideas.

Over the past year or so on and off I have tried to get some of the Austin area people together but haven't had any luck. I know for sure some of us SA guys would be glad to join you guys. In fact count me in. I try and make every meet that I can. It is allways nice to meet other owners and check out rides.
Us SA guys meet every so often, usually on a Sunday for lunch. Nothing regular just when someone gets in the mood they will post and whoever can make it will get together.
We had the "Lone Star Bash", kind of like a statewide meet, here in SA back in May. I think we had about 30 trucks there. Sure was fun.
You guys keep this thread going and count me in.

Thanks, SATundra for the willingness to drive 4 hours to help us out... That speaks volumes and would be honored to have you with us. I've been eyeing the boards for San Antonio meets. Houston is also a possibility... I just saw at least a half dozen regular posters from my neck of the woods.
Interesting that no one in Austin has gotten meets to work. Maybe there weren't enough Tundras till now? Or maybe Austinites are too stuck up? Hehe. Maybe I should call it a Round Rock Meet?
Low key is the "key" for me. I've never been much for formalities, other than punctuality.
Looking at the calendar just reminded me that I'm in a state of flux right now with a possible reassignment within the next couple of weeks. So, I can't even set a date right now in good conscience. I'll work on it and if anyone else has ideas, PLEASE, don't be shy.

Bastrop? That's darn close for me. Where are you based out of?
Doh! Houston, right? Something is wrong with my short term memory... too many Miller Lite's maybe...

There were 3 people there all right. 1 from Dallas, 1 from just south of Dallas, 1 from SA. Hey you gotta start somewhere right. All 3 of us are still here and attending meets on a regular basis as well. I have been to meets with as few as 2 trucks and as many as 30 and they are all alot of fun. Just a great bunch of people here for sure.
If any of you all can make the Franks Pizza Meet in Houston you should, i'm predicting about 20-25 trucks there. You will get a SERIOUS case of "mod-i-tuss" there for sure. Should be fun. Us SA guys allways convoy to Houston for the meets there, thats alot of fun too, nothing like seeing another Tundra owner on the road and them just "naturally" falling in line with us. You guys are welcome to join in.
Keep us posted on when you all decide to have that meet.

I'll look and find out the 'when' and 'where'. Hopefully I will know by the end of this week the details on my reassignment. When it happens it will change my current shift.
You guys seem like a bunch of nice fellers. Seems like Tundra owners are generally nice folk, at least judging by the lack of "attack posts" as most posting sites are full of. I really hope I can make it.
Thanks again gentlemen!
Dave

I just live up the road from Austin and Round Rock is even closer still. I cant make it there weekly but if a group starts accumulating now and then I'll be sure to get there. Just keep us posted .
You guys from San Antonio, Houston, Corsicana are awesome. Almost brings tears to my eyes. Tundra owners aren't just everyday truck owners... you guys are proving that.
I'm willing to do it even with just one local, Speed, who's the only one so far from this area (I'm assuming, no specifics in his profile) that has expressed an interest. The problem for me, is when. About the best I can do is 48 hour notice right now, and I wouldn't feel right having you guys from out of town driving in on such short notice.
I was expecting to have news of my new assignment yesterday, but it didn't happen. So, I'm still in lala-land as to what my schedule is going to look like in the near future. I know that we are getting close to the holidays and that it would be lunacy to try to put something together until next year (?).
Speed, when is it good for you?
I feel kinda dumb trying to coordinate something when I don't even know my own schedule! Damned supervisors!
