Tires and WheelsDiscussions and experienced advice about tires, wheels, traction control, proper balancing, improving tire life and more.
This is a discussion thread titled "Tire Life - BFG AT KO's?", within the Tires and Wheels forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Got tired of the OEM tires on the 07 Tundra. Replaced with BFG AT KO's, but had to go up a little from 265/65/18 to 275/65/18. They ride a little stiffer and you can notice when going over bumps. That is OK though, as I like the truck feeling more than a sedan feeling (Well in a truck!)
I noticed this brought my speedo closer to true speed (Have GPS with a MPH readout). Now they are exactly together. Before with the 265, at around 55-60 the speedo was about - 3MPH or so.
Confused here now, will a larger size register more mileages on odometer, less mileage, or the real mileage?
These do not have the ratings on them like the regular tires. So cannot guesstimate treadlife, but plan on rotating every chance I get. Because they ain't cheap!
