Question Price for LTX M/S?

What are you guys paying for your LTX M/S tires? I was at sears picking up an oven and while I was waiting I asked the tire man who was near what set of 4 would cost and he said $700 plus. Does this sound about average?

I got mine ( LT265/75/16 ) about a month ago at Costco. I paid $633 out the door, including lifetime balance, road hazard, mounting......... I shopped for them all over town, Discount Tire wouldn't go any lower than $700 WITHOUT the road hazard. Just call around and don't be afraid to ask if they will do better than what they quote you on the phone.

Costco and Wal*Mart probably have the best price, and they're only a coupl'a bucks apart. I think that both can order any tire in the Michelin catalog.

I thought Michelin LT 245's were a closer match to the OEM tire "P" series. Is going to LT265's pose any problem if you have a stock set up and don't want to have to worry about rubbing? Thanks!

The stock 265/70-16 tire is 30.7" O.D.
245/75-16 is 30.4"
265/75-16 is 31.6"

No clearance problem. The larger O.D. will result in a slight power loss.

Thanks, KLS.

I was just referring to LT tires but referencing the chart the LT 265's are 31.8" and LT 245's are 30.7". The only advantage to the LT245's it seems is that you can get them in a load range "C" or "E". The LT 265's are only available in load range "E".

Will there be a discernable difference in ride between load range "C" and "E"?

Thanks!

I just paid $155 each (about 2 weeks ago.) Excellent tire, by the way.
