Default Best All-around tire for all season use on the road

What is the best all-around tire for all season use. I need to get a new set by the rainy season and was wondering what has worked well for others. How about what works the best in the rain since I live in Washington State

Michelin LTX M/S. I use the LT "E" version.
I also have a set of Michelin "E" XPS Traction tires mounted on a spare set of rims for nasty weather.

I could better answer this once the 100+ degree summer bails out and the rain and snow get here I bought REVO's and they ride nice so far! Good luck with your decision, there are plenty of choices. Find out what's on-sale and that should help narrow your decision.

Personal preference only applies to politics.

I have been running the BFG A/T for the last few years. They are excellent when new, but like most tires, the compound hardens with use...they wear like iron but at the expense of wet/icy weather traction.

Many people have spoken well of the Revos.

I have not run the Michelin but I would trust DJ's recommendation.

Nokian makes an excellent tire for the road, but at the expense of faster tire wear...the compound is soft and thoroughly siped, their tires are intended for ice and snow. Traction is a function of compound, siping and channeling, their tires IMHO are second to none but you will pay a premium and you will replace them sooner. If I weren't jumping a size shortly, I'd run their new 315/75/16 in a heartbeat as a daily driver tire.

Get whatever will suit your primary need best...if it's pavement pounding on wet and icy roads, the Nokians will not fail you. If you travel offroad as well, the BFG (or similar) does the trick nicely at the expense of some grip in rain and on ice.
