Default 285/65 v.s. 305/55 All Terrain on factory 20's

I have already upgraded factory tires with all terrain 285/55-20 because there were no answers at the time I did the swap and I didn't want to rub. Now I'm thinking about one of the leveling kits and going a little larger on tires...
Anyone have any experience with either 305/55-20 or 285/65-20? I want to keep the factory 20x8.5 wheels.

I'm trying the 285/65/20 BFG KO's with a 3" lift n level kit on procomp 6066 wheels sometime in the next week or two (when I can get time off work to sit around the tire shop). I'll post results as soon as it comes up, I'm expecting a little bit of trimming will need to be done to the skid plate and maybe plastic around the wheel wells.

Wow, that was an old post! Lost again....

i have 285 65 18's. I dont know if they have the same diameter as the 285 65 20's.
If they do they will fit perfect and you will some room to spare. (you should always leave some room to spare IMO)
