Default Can I fit 245 75/16 on stock rim

Can I fit the 245 75 R 16 tires on my stock rim instead of the OEM 70's?

I am concerned about rubbing.

Thanks!

The stock rims are 7" wide and the 245/75/16 will fit fine, using the Bridgestone Duel H/T as an example, the rims it will fit range from 6.5"- 7.5" wide.

To check for a tires specifications, you can go to www.tirerack.com Get to the model of tire you like, and then look at their "specs" section for the various sizes they offer. They provide recommended rim widths, and the tires section and tread widths, and overall diameter.

The 245/75-16 tires are a fraction of an inch less O.D. than the 265/70-16 tires that were installed on most Tundras sold. As T said, the stock 7" rims are just right for 245 tires.

I think that LT245/75-16 Load Range C tires would be an excellent choice for Tundras...stiffer sidewalls for better towing stability than the 70-series tires, higher weight capacity than the 245/70-16 tires, just about the same O.D. as the 265/70-16 tires, narrower tread contact patch for better gas mileage and better wet & snow traction.

I have a friend who put 245/75x16 Cooper tires on his Tundra. They matched the OD of the Dunlops and he likes them for all the reasons that Ken mentioned. Another advantage might be more clearance to fit tire chains on the front.

Wink is smaller really better?

I thought the "basic" 2X Tundra came with the 245's and the 265's were an upgrade for the 4X. Same rims either way.

You are correct, but remember that the originals are 70 series. 245/75's are very close to the same height as 265/70's.
