Tires and WheelsDiscussions and experienced advice about tires, wheels, traction control, proper balancing, improving tire life and more.
This is a discussion thread titled "Lift needed for 285 tire?", within the Tires and Wheels forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
UrbanCowboy since you know what your talking about please enlighten us on what tire size will fit his truck without rubbing?
Agree its good to refer people to the Search but you can always do it in a more positive manner. And if you know it and can help why not just do so or just not reply.
If you see a tire size thread any other that your sick of simply dont open it.

you own this site? perhaps you should re read the OPs post because he knows what size tire he wants to run. He wants to know the lift size needed. He asks about spacers so lets assume he is talking about oem wheels which are 4.6" bsp.... so yes he would need spacers. He could run 285s without a lift if he get 2" spacers but that would be silly unless he is gonna stay on the street. Effectively 2.5" or greater would be ideal. bsp should be 4.5" or less 3.75" - 4" is ideal......... OR YOU CAN SEARCH like I did and you'll find a million sposts that say the same thing
oh and if lifting a 4x4 search for CV boot mod and differential drop.

Dude, what are you getting so mad about? It's just a forum full of guys talking about the thing were ALL passionate about, our trucks. If I took every response to my posts personal, I'd spend all my time trying to retaliate instead of giving out some valuable information.
I'm going to politely bow out of this conversation with you, which is not going to do anyone any good, and is not helping the guy who originally asked a simple question about his truck.
artyman1200, I apologize for this show of immaturity. I should have never hijacked your thread in the first place to respond to someone that clearly knows WAY more than me. Rest assured that the majority of our members here are more than happy to help with anything you might want to know about. Please feel free to continue to ask, as many questions as you like, with or without searching. I personally would be more than happy to help you out.

So...in the same amount time you spent instructing the OP to "le search", you could have simply pointed him in the right direction with the key words to do said research...

You guys will be happy to know that I decided not to lift my Tundra at this present time. It's all your fault! Not really, just decided not too. So we can end the discussion/bickering/fighting/war/entertainment/meanness/good times!
UrbanCowboy, where did you learn to become such a douche nozzle? Or should I use the search function for that too?
