I am going to buy new wheels & tires for my 2000 tundra 4x4 with bilsteins on highest setting. I was wondering if 295/70/17 would fit with american racing crater wheels, the backspacing= 4.5 & offset=-12mm. I also have 1.5in wheel adapters if I need to use them

Search around. I had Toyo M/T 295/70/17s and it rubbed like mad with aftermarket wheels with same backspacing/offset. Those wheel adaptors might help some though.

I have a winter set of tires in a 275/70/17 that are 32.2" tall x 11.2" wide and those don't rub mounted on 17x9 Centerlines with the 4.5" backspacing and -12mm offset ( clears caliper with those wheel specs) There is alittle room of about 3/4" or more at full lock. Who knows they may work with those 295's, order up a 1/4" wheel adapter/spacer from Wheelers Offroad, but then you aren't going to have many threads left for the lugs. It would then probably be necessary to get longer ARP studs so you dont end up snapping the stock ones off. If it ends up not clearing like you said, you've got those wheel spacers

I say just get the 295s with the 17x9 with the given wheel specs and go for it. Then tell us if it works or not. Most people aren't clear enough on "Aftermarket wheels" and their specs to help on issues and where it rubs like mad. What kind of tire and especially what brand has a lot to do with if it rubs or not. Mud Terrains for instance have outer lugs on the sidewalls and usually rubs the inner frame as what I experience on my 305/70/16's (33.1x12.3) using 16x8 Wheelers Offroad steelies with the 4" backspacing wheels. And even with my coilovers set at 2.5" of Lift it still rubbed the pinchweld before trimming as well as the plastic inner fender, mud flaps. Have fun fitting those 295's. Its going to take some work

I would run nitto terra grappler a/t's. Also, how hard is the pinch weld mod? or could i just beat it flat?

I suppose you could beat it flat. But that isn't going to do the trick. You have to take your inner fenders off and mud flaps. They're are many screws and some bolts holding these parts on. Then You got to have or aquire a saw-z-all and cut. Then a grinder for smoothing it down and taking excess off so there are no sharp edges. Then making any further changes by more grinding if you didn't cut enough.

Then some sealing and waterproofing needs to be done or water will find its way into the trucks interior flooring. Don't half @ss it. Do it right. Then put all your inner fenders back in place. Test fit the mud flaps finding out what needs to be trimmed next. I had to trim the mud flaps of mine down. You can use some shears. Then the inner fender liner can be molded with a heat gun to soften the plastic to mold to the newly modified pinchweld. but mine I just pushed it in and bolted it down. Without doing that you're mostly likey going to rub the pinchweld as your 295's on 17's are equivalent to my 305/70/16s in height and width and I had to do eveything I just mentioned to get them to fit on my 03' if I wanted to turn the wheels without rubbing the old plastic bumper and pinchweld/mudflap/inner fender plastic. Put those wheel spacers on first and see what you got going on.

And let us know what happens, Alright? Also..What do you got for a lift.

That was fast. Did you get skeeered on the 295's and all the cutting involved?

So how do they fit. No rubbing with that setup, right?

Hey guys hows it going. I was wonderin if you could help me out a little. I own a 2000 Toyota Tundra extended cab and have a 3" leveling kit i bought for it. Would a 295/70/17 fit on it without rubbing?

Thanks, Nick
