Default TPMS Question

I had some new shoes put on my Tundra this evening and while taking one of the tires off they broke a TPMS sensor. No big deal really, they are going to take care of it as they should, and gave me a little something for my troubles.
I noticed while driving home (sensor is still out of the wheel) that the light on my dash was NOT on. Shouldn't the light be on since there is a sensor missing? Or, is it smart enough to know that since it is not getting a signal from one of the wheels that there is nothing to freak out about??

I am just curious if anyone has the answer to this. It kinda makes me wonder if the system is working correctly.

Default Re: TPMS Question

It will take a few days maybe longer for it too relize the sensor is missing mine work for about a month with wrong sensors before I had to get reprogrammed.I bought wheels and they came with sensors be sure to write down the numbers off the new sensor before mounting the tire bring that and the old broke sensor to dealer they are the only ones that can do it.
