Tires and WheelsDiscussions and experienced advice about tires, wheels, traction control, proper balancing, improving tire life and more.
This is a discussion thread titled "Completed 35" Tires with 2 1/2" lift", within the Tires and Wheels forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Thanks for the advise TUNDRA786 and I agree with you... it will be mainly for looks. Before I got the Tundra I was driving a Jeep Cherokee 4x4 with M/T's but I never went off-roading or in the mud....just love the looks of that tire specially on some robby gordon wheels!!!
So, what did the tires (alone) cost after all was said and done. My inclination is definately (and always) for the BFG AT/ko. Those run about a grand after all is said and done. I would consider another option if it were cheaper, but I can't imagine a better product than the experiences I have had with the BFGs.
They have got me out of several blizzards. Last december (meaning '06) we had a blizzard so bad before Christmas the airport was shut down for a week. I called the airline and got a refund, then just drove through the storm to Phoenix. When I got there (about 14 hours later, from Denver) I still had a bed full of snow. I would not have gotten out of my neighborhood with stock tires. I know for sure, because the blizzard the year before had me stranded with stock tires.
Now, my truck is the one the Red Cross calls out for snow emergencies to go run shelters. Can't think of a better all weather endorsement than that.

1. Great minds think alike, i was planning on moving the wiring harness this weekend
2. I use the truck for both towing and chasing
3. yes i stuck with 18" rims to give me as much rubber a possible when aired down to prevent dented rims
4. i have always had BFG a/t this will be my first set of any other brand. BFG does not make the a/t in this size so i had to try something different. these Procomp tires cost more than the BFG. these tires were $308 a tire.
5. I will get the specs on the rims tomorrow, i know they are a 8.5 wide though.
i dont see how you have no rubbing, i have the truxxx 3/1 kit and i have the pro comp xtreme all terrains 305/55/20 and they only rub when i back in and turn sharply

Thanks for all the compliments!
One more
The rims are 18x8.5x150mm with 5.5" backspace. Ive got the same rims in the procomp 8128, and the Readylift. Ive not put them on yet i was thinking about more lift, but my friends truxx is less than a .5" higher than mine in the front. You have me rethinking my decision now,may just keep what i have, and get the cooper stt 35x12.50x18 they are 34.75x12.5x18 and look a lot like the Toyo mt's. Thanks for putting up the pictures it looks really good!
