Default Cooper ATR 275/65/18 Opinions?

Hello,

considering buying a set of 10 ply Cooper Discoverer Radial ATRs in size 275/65/18. This to replace a OEM set of 255/70/18 Bridgestone dogs. I've had many Coopers over the years and like them a lot. Haven't had experience with the ATRs though. Any thoughts on these? The more aggressive mud and snow type tire is the Cooper S/T. Leaning towards the ATRS though for general use and wet/ice traction. Out in SE Montana, we have problems with sharp rocks tearing up sidewalls. Opinions?

Thank you.

Hey, I don't know much about Coopers but I will take a look later at them tonight.

I posted b/c I know that BFG has a patented sidewall. The BFG AT T/A KO is a 3ply sidewall and a lot of people have good responses about them. I put a set on my truck and I love them MUCH more than I could ever have loved the Bridgestones.

Like I said, I don't know much about Cooper tires but check to see how many plys their sidewall is.

The BFG 285/65/r18 ran me about 1200 OTD.

Sequoia2003 has little shameless behaviour in the past.

Not a mud tire and the tread is too carish for my taste, but they are good tires. 4Wheeler magazine did an article on their mud terrains and gave it a thumbs up.

I had ATR,s on my 02 Tundra, i had no problem with them. My wife had them on a 05 4Runner and thought they tracked weird. I have 10 ply STs on my old snowplow-wood hauler, they are great. I would like the ATR,s but i want 8 ply not the 10 ply on a 1/2 ton. I would buy if they made a 275/65/18. Most tires that size are P-rated or 10 plys.

I have them on my 2000 tundra and love them. I had bfg's and they look better but I think the all around performance of the coopers is much better.
