Default Tire/Wheel Width

Hi all. I would like to get 305/55/20. But the recommended wheel width is 9-11...The Wheel I would like is 20x8.5. Is this:

doable.
not at all doable
will it look terrible etc.

again 8.5 inch wheel recommended with mim. 9 inches.

thanks.

I think it's "doable." The tire may be narrower, but it shouldn't be a big deal. Hopefully one of the experts will chime in.

Dont you think there is a minimum recommended size for a reason? Its "doable", but you might have a tough time finding a shop that will mount them for you.

Red River Toyota in Denison, Texas has a CM with a set of 305/55/20 BFGs mounted on stock 20" wheels. Its doable and looks good. I prefer a bit more offset, but it works.
