Smile Which tires??

Ok guys, I need some help. I've decided to get me some 16x8 Mickey Thompson Classic II's. Now I need help on which tires to get.

I'm deciding between these:

BFG All-Terrain T/A KO

BFG Mud-Terrain T/A KM

Dunlop Radial Mud Rover

Firestone Destination M/T

I need some opinions or suggestions on what tires to get.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Stay with BFG or even take a look at the Pro Comp tires. They have a 3 for 4 deal on those tires PLUS free shipping on 4 Wheel Parts website.

4 Wheel Parts

Good luck!!

What are you trying achieve with your new tires? Looks, functionality, longevity, better ride? Selecting tires comes down to what will work best for you. The mud tires are going to be noisier and sacrifice wet and dry traction to give you the improved mud traction. The BFG A/T will give you decent wet and dry traction, but you sacrifice mud traction because the tread design is not going to be as self cleaning as the mud tires.

In comparing the mud tires, The BFG has the edge in quality and reputation. The Dunlops and Firestones are a toss up. Which ever one is cheaper is probably better. The Firestone is pinned for studs if you plan on driving on ice.

Personally I have had a set of pro comp all terrains on my 92 yota dezert truck and a set of pro comp muds on my 89 yota and they are both darn good tires. Everyone I know that has had them are pleased.

Take a look at NITTO TERRA GRAPPLERS, I have had them on for about 5000 miles and I am very happy with them. 285/70/16 on IS rims.

For an on/off road tire with a fairly aggressive tread pattern they are verrrrrry quiet on pavement and have performed well in snow and rain.

Have recommended to several people around here and they all feel the same.

If you want just a street tire for a comfortable ride, I also recommend Michelin Pilot LTX. I had those on b4 adding confeds, supersprings to lift truck and going with Nittos. Theese handled great!

I have done a lot a research on sizes, wear, temp ratings...

Street/Strip, Toyo Proxes ST or Yokahama AVS AS. Either will become my summer tires.

Good luck, Paul
