P rated or LT Class C?
I have decided to get a set of Revo's for my 04 DC. I currently have 285/75/16 BFG A/T KO's, which I have been very happy with (except for gas mileage).
I decided to reduce my size and lug pattern to hopefully gain a 1 - 2 MPG (currently 12 - 13ish).
I don't do much towing, but I do haul a bed full of dirt, stones, grass, etc rom time to time. I don't see much snow, ice, or offroad, but I grew up in the mountains. So when I go home, I do want a tire that won't let me down in the snow or in the backwoods (rough trail).
The Revo's have 3 options for 265/75/16 (next step down). They have a P rated tire, a Class C and a Class E rated LT tire.
I know the higher class rating the more load they can hold. Again load doesn't appear to be an issue for me. The higher load rating means a heavier tire (less MPG) but a higher pressure rating (higher MPG).
On/Off road wet/dry traction will be generally the same for all 3, and I don't care about ride quality. Its a truck, and coming down from 285 BFG's running 55psi onroad, I don't think it could be much worse.
So for a truck that wants to do mostly dry/wed street driving, but wants to have complete confidence in the puncture resistance while rolling over rocks/sticks, which would be the best tire. P, C, or E?
