Tires and WheelsDiscussions and experienced advice about tires, wheels, traction control, proper balancing, improving tire life and more.
This is a discussion thread titled "Deep Six without SPACERS", within the Tires and Wheels forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I was wondering if a 275/55/20 would fit on a '06 XPS Tundra (20s) with 2.5" daystar? This is without wheel spacers...hoping to be able to stay away from them. Stock tire size is 295/45/20, so I'm going a little thinner but a little taller!
Alright got my lift installed today so I desperately need tires to fill the wheel-well now...looks like or funny with the lift and 294/45/20 tires. I don't have wheel-spacers so which size is best, I'm thinking 275/55/20...anyone have any experience or suggestions?
Today is the big day, taking truck in @ 11am to get 275/55/20 Toyo Open Country A/T installed...I'll let you know how they fit, BTW - I went ahead and removed the front mud flaps just in case!

You probably could just trim the inside of the flap.
UPDATE- 275/55/20 do NOT fit! They rub the upper control arm! So nevertheless my truck is still sitting at the shop while I have wheel adapters on order NEXT DAY! The truck does look damn good though, totally different from a STOCK XSP!
My 275/55/20 Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo fit WITH the mudguard on. The only place they rub is right before full turn on the corner of the front bumper.
It seems that Bridgestone developed this tire almsot specifically for this situation as the tread makes gets smaller from the sidewall and it clears the UCA.
I have the Daystar 1.25 spacers and nothing else done.
Finally got the truck back and it looks mean...loving the Toyo A/T tires! I'll post some pics up as soon as I can. I'm on my July 4th vacation down at Gulf Shores now!
