Default New Wheels - no rubbing

This is a post for the archives:

2004 DC with OEM 17" X 7.5" wide wheels, -6mm offset.

I had 285/70R 17 BFG All Terrain KO's installed. LOTS of rubbing on the frame and also on the upper control arm. It was rubbing right on the corner of the tread on the tire.

Installed ToyTec 2.5" spacer lift. The rubbing was almost gone.

Installed Pro Comp Xtreme 8089 wheels. 17" X 9" wide -6mm offset. No more rubbing. Apparently the wider rims changed the shape of the tire so the tread was not sticking out so much.

Looks awesome too.

wider rim with same offset pushes the wheel out further too, but yess it takes some of the round out of the sidewall to
