This is a discussion thread titled "Cheapest Place to buy BFG AT 285's?", within the Tires and Wheels forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I just got the 2.5 Cornfed lift and I want to go with some bigger meats! I've been looking around and haven't really found all that hot deals out there. Where did you all buy your tires at? For wheels I am prob. going to go with MT II's. Thanks for any helP!!
I've never really seen the BFG AT's for much of a deal. NTWonline has got them for fairly cheap. However if you don't mind running some M/T's I would say go for some buckshots, you can get a 285/75r16 for 115 a tire. ---------->Buckshots.

Even though I already have 285's, I always watch Sears ads in the Sunday paper. They sometimes run GREAT deals on BFG's and Michelins. The cheapest I ever saw 285/75/16's was $149.99 a piece, which is the price I bought them at, but I took the ad to a military exhange and they price matched Sears and I got the benefit of not having to pay tax.

Any clearance problems running 285s?? I have a totally stock truck and I'm not too interested in any kind of lift - I still want my truck to fit in my garage!!
I'd appreciate any input on whell well clearance issues, especially when turning. Any pictures would be great!! Thanks!
You cannot fit 285's on a stock Tundra without a lift and wheels with different backspacing. Lots of members have experience with this. 265/75's are the largest tire you can use on a stock Tundra.
for muds go with the cheapy pep boys futura tires. They are great off road, just as good as the BFG's are, but once your out of the mud the futura is the clear winner. They are about $94.
you CAN fit 285s on a tundra without a lift. I've got a set of BFG A/T 285-75-16s mounted on my stock wheels with no lift on a 2001 Tundra TRD 4x4. They just BARELY rub at full steering lock.
