Unhappy Tire Selection - BFG AT/KO

Hi All,

First of all let me apologize for posting a message that gets talked about all the time.

Here it goes.

I have a 2000 Tundra LTD TRD 4x4 with stock rims and a 2.5" Cornfed lift (the TRD aal's are on the way).

I wanted to get the AT/KO's size 285/75-R16 but the guy at Mr. Tire talked out of them for the time being. He said that the BFG's in that size wasn't recommended with the stock 16x7 inch rim. The tire would have to be squeezed in a bit more than originally designed. He said that the outside edges of the tire wouldn't touch the ground correctly which would cause uneven and undesirable wear.

Also, he said the 285's would rub all over the place.

I DO NOT want the 265/75-R16 because it didn't look that much different than the stock wussy tires.

Sorry for being so long winded, but this is a lot of money and I don't want to screw this up.

I need to know who has the same truck setup as I do (stick rims and 2.5" Cornfeds) and any fitting comments/issues with the BFG AT/KO's in the 285/75-R16 size.

Thanks in advance,

John

fashmhz,

Nice looking truck.

Do you have the Fabtech's cranked up for a 2.5" lift?

Do the tires rub anywhere. If not, did you have to trim anywhere?

Thanks for your response.
