Default Tires for Gulf Coast - Texas (no snow but lots of rain)?

OK, I spent alot of time reading about different tires on here, and there are some that people love because of mud / snow conditions. But I need something that will do well in the dry, and in torrential rain (no snow here). Currently I have 3 Dunlops and one heavy duty 12ply Bridgestone truck tire. The truck feels like on ice when it rains.

I had really good experience in the rain with BFGs ATs on my older truck, but when I priced these they were $200 each. I am looking at something cheaper yet still decent.

I looked at discount tire website and here are ones that I am interested in:

BFG Rugged Trail ~140 ea
BFG Long Trail ~140 ea
Yoko Geolander A/T ~150 ea
Continental Cross Contact LX ~140 ea

I also went to Costco, but they don't have a tire under $160.

Any comments on these or maybe others?

Key is - not too expensive, but good in rain.

I just bought a set of the Geolander A/T-S from tirerack.com. I got 275/70/16 and shipped to my door it was about $575. Each tire was $118 plus $102 for shipping. I checked discounttire.com to see what their total, out the door installed price was and it came to $720. I am going to be using one of tirerack's recommended installers and when all is said and done, I will have spent about $650.

I went with the Geolanders because I wanted good all around performance in all weather/road conditions plus they got great reviews on tirerack.com. I'll report back in a couple weeks after I get them mounted and I return from a 2000 mile road trip.

I had a set of the geolander at+2 (which the ats has superseded) on the GMC fullsize I traded in for my tacoma. They were pretty good tires for north Texas, so you should be happy with them on the coast. IMO.

Thanks for all comments. Although not on my original list, I ended up getting good deal on Michelin A/T 2s at $150 each, so went with those. It was a toss up between the geolander and these however. I will see how they do over time. The truck definately rides better than on Dunlops that were there before.
