Tires and WheelsDiscussions and experienced advice about tires, wheels, traction control, proper balancing, improving tire life and more.
This is a discussion thread titled "Poll: Tire Decesion its a heated one", within the Tires and Wheels forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
So ive been going back and forth between these forums and tire rack and Im close to making a decesion,
every time I go to Tirerack I read a new review which changes my mind, Im looking for an All terrain that wont kill my performance, mpg, has good tread life, has good traction all around, and looks decent, i do mostly commute to and from school, occasional snowboard trip, and live in socal.
You should get Nitto Terra Grapplers. Check out my pics for what they look like mounted

A rule of thumb: If you can't describe your idea clearly and simply, you haven't thought it through.

I went Yokohama but only because I could not afford the Michelins. The Michelins have the best rating on TireRack and many users on this forum say great things about them, esp on wear and balancing issues. I got my Yokos for $60 cheaper a tire and just couldn't justify the Michelins on my budget. Tires are too new to say if they are any count, but I like them so far.

well i just got back from the firestone dealer, and they are willing to give me $320 credit towards the purchase of new tires because my stock duelers crapped out so fast 1 year, 22000 miles...what would you recommend?
I mean yea im saving $320 but whats the point if ill need new bridgestone/firestone tires after 30 k?

I have the Nitto Terra's and they lasted 2 1/2 yrs about 35k miles love the handling of them..they really grip the road.

I had the Yokahamas on mine for 50+K miles, all highway driving. They are great but not the best in snow/ice. They were good in rain until around 40K miles.
Now I have the Firestones (only for a month or so), I got them for better snow/ice traction, since I drive the truck much less. They seem to handle and ride ok. I also went from 275/70R16 (Yokahama) to 265/75R16, this way I still have a larger tire but a bit narrower for better rain/snow/ice handling.
