Default Road Hazard Warranty

Im close to buying new tires, and im seeing different prices for this road hazard warranty,

firestone wants 123 for all 4 tires,

costco says its includeded in their prices etc...

now is it actually worth buying this "warranty" or are there alot of fine print bs?

Default Re: Road Hazard Warranty

it depends on what kind of road hazard warranty it is. Costco's RHW is a pro-rated one, which means they only give you credit on the tread remaining on the tire at the time that your tire is non-repairable, then you pay the difference between the credit given and the price of the new tire. America's Tire and i believe Bridgestone/Firestone offer both a pro-rated RHW and a full coverage RHW. The full coverage RHW means no matter how much tread is remaining on the tire at time its not repairable, they'll replace it at no cost to you. So really, its up to you. Don't be afraid to ask questions at dealers. They will most likely explain the fine detail to you. And if they don't... ASK, ASK, ASK until you are satisfied with the answers. Ask if there's limitations or what's covered and what's not covered. The reason why people feel like they get screwed out of money is because they don't ask questions when purchasing things that come with warranties. That, and they also don't bother to read. They expect everyone to just tell them.
